So this in turn can make your insurance invalid most people have a friendly mot station ;) who will pass a decattered car by various means(or put original cat on for mot time) But if you have a smash and your car is a right off and the insurance comany check it out and find no cat they will invalidate your policy. is it worth the risk if your've got 20k or so in your car ? Thats why i've got a sports cat which is mot friendly. |

Went back to the car (which was parked on the road) and was wondering how I could get it home (as it wouldn't drive) and a copper pulled up. Asked if it was my car - yes, I said - just bought it, and he gave me a producer - why!? Obviously I had no insurance having bought it 2 minutes ago, but as it was parked on a public highway I got 6 points. Hated the police since then (1987) cant see how they would have got away with this TBH, sounds to me like they tried it on and won you didnt use it on the pulic road. very worst you could have been done for is no tax if it had none |

The new computerized system of checking number plates instantly against insurance/tax/mot is brilliant. I just wish they would take it one step further and crush any car driving illegally - no excuses and no chance to get out of it. |
Never done it and never would, too much of a chance of getting caught and it is not worth it

Never done it and never would, it is not worth it ,its people like that who cause us people who do have insurance to pay extortionate prices......... in our policies.... really p>>>es me off... but i still wouldnt do it
