The car will not run as well as on SUL and will have less protection against det.

People who change for one tank and expect to notice an immediate big difference will most likely be dissapointed though. For a start the ECU has to "learn" the new petrol and the classics are significantly slower to do this than the New ages. Secondly, whatever petrol you put in there is still sloshing around with whatever quantity of the old stuff you've got in there etc... so it's not pure SUL straight away.

I am only on my second tank of V Power and I am aware that I will not see a difference immediately. I have said to myself that I will give it 4 tanks and then decide.

over 300 miles out of a tank on a My00 with normal everyday driving tell me something is wrong! I would only expect to see that on a good long run keeping steady speed of about 80...

I'd look at replacing your MAF and Lambda sensors.

My 1995 RA with standard ratio gearbox is mapped to Tesco 99 Ron on a Apexi FC is only managing 160 miles a tank. This is from near enough empty with mostly 70-80 mph motorway driving. This works out at 15mpg due to having a small tank is anyone else experiencing the same amount of petrol consumption?.:thumb:

I am embarassed to say that I regularly see 300+ from mine but I do not drive like a lunatic everywhere, my drive to and from work is a 40mile a day round trip on A and B roads. On the A road I cruise at approx 60/70 with the occasional foot down overtaking, and then back to cruising, but I am getting old and frankly do not feel the need to accelerate everywhere as if I was doing the quarter mile....

snap. I very rarely thrash mine (MY99 UK turbo). I guess the traffic I hit really dents my mpg. :)

I've said this before, I couldn't believe people were getting so low MPG, I'm a little miffed if I get under 300 miles out of a tank. And I don't drive my car with slippers on!!!!

I think it's down to there gearing (JDM cars), high reving at what we would class at normal speed's + smaller tank.

With regards to V Power, My My99 uk turbo loves it. Had no knocklink activey and it still goes like a rocket.

Same here. I don't drive around like a Paramedic on-call but don't dither like Miss Daisy either. My daily route to work has some stop/start elements and 30/40/50/60/70 ones too and it's never been a problem getting 270-330 out of a tank of Optimax.

Finished my tank of Tesco 99 today and had managed 280 so instantly better than what I was getting out of the last 3 tanks of V-Power. I'll give V-Power another go at some point tho...

Jonts.
