You've been googling...1.9CVH was the US version :p
Diesel was the 1.6 and 1.8 clatter bangers. :D |

Fuzzlip was driving like an accident waiting to happen all afternoon (a point to prove perhaps?), he lost control of his car whilst trying to go down Craners 20mph faster than even Tim Harvey thought was safe, and spun his mondeo into the embankment before the bridge. Poor old Tiff was just unable to avoid the wreckage as it pirouetted back across the circuit. That apart, your synopsis of the old style Top Gear was bang on:thumb: |

Tiff was no great shakes, anyone remember when he took on a load of clubman racers in a corsa?? challenge or something, and made a complete balls of it, putting his car in the tryes at the first corner? |

Indeed, my gripe was with Tiff's attitude afterwards shrugging off complete responsibility when an former world champion lay unconscious in a tyre wall. He had the same level of ignorance in gentleman's conduct on the track as Herr Schumacher himself. |
BTW, didn't Angela Ripon present it originally?
|
I dunno, I wasn't even born then :D

I wasn't asking you! :hjtwofing

The beeb would never have had a no-tail hosting a man's programme. |
According to Wikipedia she did, but I don't remember much before 1980 ;)

Lots of the crap old stuff is available on finalgear.com
Edit: Well they were, now only seems to go back to 2004 :wonder: |
For the record, Tiff did not 'bash Mansell off the track' at Donnington, and IMO was quite right to deny responsibility. In fact the clerk of the course adjudged the accident to be of Mansell's own making too! ;) |

Seriously, was Tiff tuing in his radio or trying to find a Wuthers out of the glovebox whilst all that was happening in front of him? ;) |
IIRC (and it is a long time ago) Raymond Baxter was the original presenter, he gave way to Noel Tidy Beard and then Wolly Willard.
Still can't remember the name of the woman presenter Sue...Sue...Sue :?: |
