My local Sainsbury's (South Ruislip,West London) recently opened and as an incentive they had SUL going for 74p with vouchers and wait for it........Reward Card points!!

Shame my tank full only latest 250 miles.

I hope that Tescos follow suit.

All my local Tesco does currently is normal unleaded, benzene free unleaded, 4 star and diesel.

No sign of SUL at Sainsbury's at Straiton near Edinburgh last night http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif Still having to pay between 87.9 and 95.9 http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif Here's hoping they'll be selling it soon ....

Scotty,

Yes I think you are right. Millers claim a 2 point increase per bottle in 50 litres of fuel. Adding 2 bottles should give a 4 point increase.

Get my Millers trade so I'll ask the Millers rep next time he calls. (Only just called so will be a couple of weeks)

Cheers
Lee

Please feel free to shoot me down in flames but I was under the impression if you change from 95 to 97 you have to reset the ECU in order to gain performance. This is what I do and there is a big difference.

logiclee 28 October 2000 06:43 PM

Scotty,

Word of warning!

Millers advise not to put more than one bottle in per 50 litres of fuel on cat equipped cars as damage to the cat may result.

Fine on cat free cars though.

I've just imported a new uk spec turbo and have been running it on normal unleaded, is their much difference ?

logiclee 28 October 2000 11:19 PM

Gary,

Opinion differs, some find an increase in performance or fuel economy. I find the engine runs a lot smoother at lower rpm and pick up is better.

Although the ecu should compensate for lower octane 95ron UL, the risk of pre-detenation is vastly reduced with 97 ron SUL or octane booster.

Have a look
