I think Pazza should be banned from the site with an attitude like that.

CharliePsycho 22 October 2000 07:53 PM

To take it a little less personaly...

Maybe Pazza works in a body shop industry, you know the ones... Where you you mustn't compare colours between either side of a car?

Rum, bad luck mate. Scares the living sh1te out of me, but my nightmare is understeering off the corners and head on to the tree...

Rum* 22 October 2000 08:54 PM

Cheers Guys...I think that "whoops" sort of sums it up.

I'm OK, the girlfriend was a little shaken (bottle of wine and a few whiskies sorted that tho).

Re repairable - the estimate is at £2 - £2.5k...so its not too bad.

Hit a tree (**ckin tree trunk was only 3 inch in diameter...!!!), as puff so kindly put it - lift off oversteer...!!floored it after realising my error and almost got it sorted (well I think I did, cos I didn't hit the tree head on!!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif)...I kinda just used the tree as a means of straigtening the car up fully ::: *LOL*

Gives it an interesting ripple effect tho....

Best comment I have had so far was when I arrived at the pub carpark immediately after the crash. I was on the phone to the Insurers arranging recovery etc and I guy parks up next to me (on the drivers side) and says...(bare in mind I have ust cleaned and Mark Underwooded the car earlier in the day)

"...nice car mate is that a new 22B?"

"..nope" I says whilst asking Insurer to hold a sec...

"...its a real beaut all the same...is it quick?"

"...yup" I says

"....they stick to the road like glue, don't they?!..." he says..

"errr....yea...most of the time"....getting a little agitated by now...

"....good polish...anyways, c u M8..." he says as he starts to walk round the back of the car towards the pub....

I then over hear....

"F**K ME!!...BO**OCKS....HAVE YOU SEEN WHATS HAPPENED TO THIS SIDE M8!!!!!"....F**KING HELL.....****....**** ETC ETC......"

At this point I had to laugh....

Anyways thanks for the comments...

Oh, a quick one to the Yorkshire Lads - sorry I didn't make it this morning...something came up...sorry...

Anyway I wouldn't have been much fun in an Astra http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Basically, its not that we're cr@p drivers...its just the only way we seem to be able to worsen the claims experience...hense increasing motor premiums next year http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif....joke!!!

Can't Pazza be banned from the site?

Rum
Whoops.....£2.5k isn't too bad considering how it looks....

robski 23 October 2000 10:50 AM

Whats the point in trying to ban Pazza?
he will just set up a new email address, if you notice he doesnt give any details, since hes got smaller balls than something with very small balls.

Bad luck Rum..but on the other hand, good luck for having nearly got it straight/not hitting the tree head-on.

Main thing is, no-one got hurt.

Glad you saw the funny side of the bloke in the pub carpark - there's always SOMETHING to smile about, if you look for it - in my case it was the copper's broom falling to bits as he tries to sweep the glass off the road.....

Hope you got a decent courtesy car!!

Yex 23 October 2000 10:53 AM

Rum,

OUCH...hope they can get you back on the road ASAP. I understand how you tried to correct the car as I nearly came a cropper on Friday night. Progressing at about 60-65mph on a decent dual carriageway in the rain when the car begins to aquaplane....bloody scary http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif It was a natural reaction to brake and turn into the skid, but I remembered to plant the loud pedal and steer very slightly and the car corrected itself after nearly collecting the ashen faced guy in the car to my left. If I had touched the brake pedal and steered as if in an RWD car then I'm sure the accident would have been substantial and involved a couple of innocent parties in the near side lane, not a nice thought.

Again, hope you are roadworthy soon

Regards

Yex

DrEvil 23 October 2000 11:27 AM

All the best, Alex

Rum* 23 October 2000 11:50 AM

"...see the funny side..."...you have to laugh and see the funny side...otherwise I'd still be bawling my eyes out http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Dave T-S 24 October 2000 07:05 PM

Suntit needs Pazza on here so there is someone worse than him to get slagged off.....!! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Sapphy 26 October 2000 10:47 AM

Glad you and the gf are ok. Hope it all gets sorted soon.

Mike - Ford Owner

PS Pazza, Your mummy and daddy must be really proud of a little sh!t like you.

jeremy 26 October 2000 12:29 PM

Could there be something different about the P1's wet road handling as opposed to regular Impreza's?

Indeed the 4WD system has been modified, the suspension modified and the tyres are 45 section. Might these changes improve the car in every way except wet road predicability, progressive break away and stability?

Might the P1 be more difficult to drive fast on wet roads?
