Ive just watched your lap and was so smooth, obviously the key to a great time. I need to learn to feather the throttle more gently, I went round the bends like it was a fifty pence shape

That means I came 14th, yippee

My best time was 39.00secs , dragging a cone with me under the front wing, which I was quite proud of until Danny said he did a 38 something for his sighting lap

. I really enjoyed myself for a first time track event and now realise I'm no driving god and need lots of tuition:D

Andy

Blimey, I'm seriously shocked at those results. I ran a completely standard MY05 WRX (NOT even an STi) with no mods whatsoever (OK I HAVEchanged the number plates) and no track experience and came 8th only a second behind the best!?!? It must also have been one of my runs in the pouring rain as I know my best prior to that was 43.00. Maybe a mistake!?

printout correct, you must have a natural talent especially with no extras

Well done Neil :thumb:

Good show for the basic handling mods you've done :D

I dunno, I did have one run where I completely lost the cones and missed out about 3/4 of the course :o - surely they're not counting that time!? I know which run it was so will wait for full results.

Well that possibly explains the great time then, if you didnt really hook up a good lap, then that might of been counted by mistake. When I made sows ear of a run I didnt bother going to the finish line or arrived half an hour late :lol1:

I'm still not sure what happened on that run. I got distracted by the need to crank up my wipers and next thing I knew there just weren't any cones! I reckon I must've gone through a big gap someone had left. Anyway I just ambled back to the finish but with missing out most of the course the time might still have been quite quick. There's absolutely no way in h3ll that they wouldn't have noticed my 'shortcut' though.

Some of my other laps did go pretty well but I'd be very surprised to get that close to the leaders in a bog standard WRX.

Dill_typeR 22 May 2006 11:34 AM

I managed a 37.90sumthing in the dry, 2nd time round 37.53 in the damp, then it all went to pot in the rain with no wet tyres. Weren't very (ahem) smooth laps either, all over the place, i still can't work out where to set the diff setting to, it seems to understeer no matter where it is?

Well done neil, what is your prize then?
