More soon after a beer/2 and Top Gear.

Shame it still wasnt the fastest time eh?......

Wonder Wagon 21 May 2006 09:46 PM

Where's the times???

Andy.F 21 May 2006 10:14 PM

The rain really skewed the handling results, if you got a few runs in the dry then you were well up the timing scoreboard.
IIRC John F was 3rd in his fairly std Sti5 when I last spoke to him.

I had spent 2 days setting my car up for the handling circuit, with a new set of Whiteline ARB's, springs, drop links, adjustable rear tie rods, full bush set and full alignment........but.......by the time I had done 2 drag runs the heavens had opened
The extra camber and circuit suspension set up didn't seem to cause too much delay on the 1/4m thankfully !!

Andy

And what a fine two runs they were :notworthy

banny sti 21 May 2006 10:24 PM

Andy if you dont mind me asking, how come you have two fc commanders? Is the fuelling and ignition handled seperately?

banny

I think John ended up either 6th or 8th with a 38 flatish....

it was at least drizzling on all my runs, admittedly it did get a whole lot worse later on in the day.....as a mondeo nearly found out :) slidey slidey!

Never knew a mondeo could move that quick in reverse :)

Andy.F 21 May 2006 10:41 PM

What tyres were you on Neil ?

Neilo 21 May 2006 10:44 PM

michelin pilot sports with unknown pressures.......damn im professional :)

scoobyace 21 May 2006 10:48 PM

mad pic of scooby on here

jay:thumb:

johnfelstead 21 May 2006 10:52 PM

I think i slipped down to 9th in the end.

I was pleased with my last run in the last 15 minutes, it came together well with a 38.9 in the pissing rain, 0.4 slower than my dry run. Neils time was seriously quick.

Well done Andy, top result again!

Very glad to see Bob was OK after a very scary moment, hopefully it's not too bad when it's looked at back at the workshop.

terryb 21 May 2006 10:55 PM

Good to meet you all today - John, you should have taken the cement out of the boot mate :D

Just a pity my car was off the road and I couldn't have set that fastest time, eh Neilo? ;):D:D

Had an email from Bob and he's ok - thankfully :D

I thought someone had knicked my food and cans of drink from my pile of bits in the pitlane. Sadly not, i had left that in the boot and taken it for a stir fry all day. oops. :D

i would say it has something to do with the fact it has eight injectors :wonder: , so may run a 2 ecus. 1 for controling the lower four and the other maybe for the upper four.

(i like a good old stab in the dark:D )

Fuzz 22 May 2006 12:02 AM

I think it was done on best time on each "heat", so if you couldn't put in a good time in that particular heat you lost out to the faster car.
Consistancy over fluke. :thumb:
Wasn't really taking much notice of how it was organised.
All I know is Shauns car stayed in the top three until the final 3 cars ran where it in put the winning time to take it. :luxhello:

Well done Dirk.

Andy

johnfelstead 22 May 2006 12:05 AM

A top 4 time during the day was all that was needed to qualify for the final shootout.

Dill_typeR 22 May 2006 12:06 AM

i managed a high and a mid 37 in standard V3 type R when it was dry, cud of gone a bit quicker then came the rain, and my tyres were not best suited to that, still did all 5 runs, good laugh sliding all over the place:lol1:

Neil was in the final, he came 2nd, but i don't think the winning time of the final was faster than neils other laps

Fuzz 22 May 2006 12:15 AM

Ahh got ya. :thumb:

Trackday tyres would have been an advantage in the morning whilst it was dry, but Shaun left them in our workshop. :lol1:

Dill_typeR 22 May 2006 12:19 AM

It was nice to see JP mag have got their 'project phoenix' running after the off that trashed the old car. that was 3rd overall
