Future classic and great presence.

I would love one!

This looks like it could be a good one:

Sold mine to a friend a couple of years ago (Coupe) with less than 20k on the clock for a very low price but the Vanos failed twice before it reached 25k.
BMW footed most of the bill the first time and all of it the second time becuase the mileage was so low and both myself and friend were good customers. It would have cost £2.8k each time otherwise.

The Coupe is a far better but if you want a soft top then I suppose it doesn't really matter. If it weren't for the kids I'd still have mine now - it was that good!!

i am the proud owner of a S50 M Coupe. I have nothing but good to say about them.....(biased I know) Everywhere i go i people stop and ask me what it is. Even most BMW fans dont know what it is let alone actually seen one. Its either a love it or hate it car but IMO the view from the rear showing those wide ass rear arches is to die for. (biased again, i'm sure)
Anyway, i have found the drive and the power excellent. It took me about a year to find one, covered over 2000 miles in the process. I was very specific about the colour (black) and leather colour (orange... ok, sound awful but really suits the car) and preferably wanted an S50 (subtle differences, although 4 less BHP and no traction control).

In response to an earlier post. The M Roadsters and M Coupes are the same with regard to speed/acceleration although handling improved greatly on the m Coupe due to the stiffness offered by the roof.

I will let you make your own decisions on that :thumb:

You need to weigh up what you want out of a car really and see if a scoob fits the bill.

I don't see the point Mark - I've been in an M Roadster down the strip at Crail and its only fractionally faster than my S2000 and that was a modified M Roadster as well! From simple and inexpensive n/a mods (most of which I think you already have) you'll get within 1s of the Roadsters 0-100mph time. Spunk money on manifolds, cams and ecu's and you'll be the whole way there.

Sadly I've had to write the last generation of M-cars off as not being 'quicker' enough :(
