Andy S. 16 January 2006 07:28 PM

Just realised I have not put me down,

I will run if i get a new car otherwise I will turn up to watch and pay my charity money, I am not putting the current car through the stress of a rolling road!!

Cheers Andy

wondered when you were going to post on here super :) pimmo2000, you don't drive your car, the mechanics do, so don't worry about "putting the power down", the car will do that :)

what if it blows up

cw42 17 January 2006 07:19 AM

pimmo2000,

what if it blows up?
you sign a disclaimer at the start of the session, saying basically prosport are not responsible for your car if it does go bang :), BUT, I've been to countless rolling roads over the last 4 years now, and never, I repeat, NEVER, seen a car "blow up!" So, don't worry, your car is in safe hands. If anything, the rr will do it good, as it can sometimes highlight problems which may have gone undetected in everyday driving. I've seen cars run the rr before now, then have some simple remedes sorted for small problems discovered, which if left, could have developed into bigger ones :)
Dont worry pimmo, your car's in safe hands :)
chris.

Mad Scientist 17 January 2006 08:12 AM

With the car on the rollers, and a decent fan at the front (which Prosport have), there is very little differance between a power run and giving your car a punt on the road. They only take it through the gears once or twice after all.

:)

yeah but how fast do they take it up to ? as I've heard people say they have raced their cars to top speed only to have it go pop :wonder:

Oh and Green pannel and center cat removed, so I'm guess 215-220bhp

As I said its to give me something to work off :)

Only 125mph ish last time I did a run!

MY93WRX 17 January 2006 09:51 AM

:thumb: Nice clean looking scooby, the stats arn't to bad either;) . maybe i should bang some millers octain booster in for the run, i'll not be happy if my baby is kicking out less that 235 Bhp/240 ps it's ment to come out of the factory with. Then again thats the engine power where as dosn't the rolling road give you the power at the wheels. Anyone know roughly how much Bhp gets lost on the way from the engine to the wheels? 10 Bhp maybe :wonder:

Mad Scientist 17 January 2006 09:58 AM

Look at the printout of my (old) car. 311.2bhp at flywheel, 249bhp ish at wheels after correction. Tells you both.

cw42 17 January 2006 10:03 AM

I'll post up my graph from powerstation when I get home later, looks good :)
chris.

wah 17 January 2006 10:11 AM

Was looking for my graph from last time I was on the rollers before it went pop on the way home but can't seem to find the bloody thing, I'm in two minds if to run or not now Chris after last time I will be bricking it can't go through that one again but saying that the knock link is in there now plus it will have a harty dose of NF in it as well !!!!!

:iamwithst I didn't read it properly, yep your right it tells you both. What about octain booster? If i stick some in will that mean i'll have to resset the ECU, then reset again when i go back to optimax with no booster??? Then again that would be cheating as i want to know a concistant figure not an Octain boosted figure, i was thinking it would better protect the engine, but as someone said earlier its just like flooring the car from the lights a few times so i've answered my own question RE Octain booster :lol1:
