Great - look forward to meeting you! Fancy posting up details on the Evo board? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Grahame - have you mentioned this to the RS boys? I guess we can recruit next Tuesday...

Richard

Richard,

The more the merrier, but we may need to look for a larger pub for lunch! Or alternativley, we split between the two pubs in the village.

Lou_C 04 April 2001 03:13 PM

Of course I will Richard http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

I was just gonna ask this... how big is the pub? If we are inviting other forum members this may be a big prob, not sure that splitting the group would work, but if its the only option...

Lou_C 04 April 2001 04:18 PM

For anyone who needs a map of where the initial meeting point is I have uploaded one here:

Richard Gledhill 05 April 2001 07:43 PM

The pub will seat about 20 in the restaurant section, and about another 10 in the 'main' bit - but expect there to be locals in that bit! I guess if it goes over 20 then we have to split with some going to the other pub.

Grahame, it might be an idea to book The Eight Bells for 15-20 now! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Cheers
Richard

Richard
Not taking the bait - but as you raised the subject a couple of weeks ago -

Rob W 06 April 2001 11:42 AM

Dave, It is a shame your not coming along. I know what you mean about the speeds and driving manor on some of these meets, It is just a matter of time......
But this is a leisurely drive and lunch at some country pubs, so come along and drive at your own pace.
So drive carefully guys, It's not a race!!

GMAY 06 April 2001 02:13 PM

Ok, I've booked the whole pub restaurant for Sunday lunch (20 people - it's maximum capacity). The landlord is going to send me the menu. Any vegetarians out there? The pub's car park has parking for about 17 cars, but we can also use the village hall car park over the road, so should be plenty of room.

Things are shaping up nicely...

Rob W 06 April 2001 08:02 PM

Hi Grahame,
Put me down for a vegetarian menu please http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

See you there

Rob

Carolyn T-S 06 April 2001 09:01 PM

Richard - add another two to the list me and Mr T-S, not sure if we'll be 1 or 2 cars but 2 for lunch.

Richard Gledhill 06 April 2001 09:15 PM

Dave - very sorry to hear that. I wasn't aware of this happening on our last run - as you'll have seen from my posting in the other forum I neither approve of nor drive in that way.

Glad to hear Carolyn and you will be joining us for at least some of the day - Grahame's keeping a list of the numbers. GM: How many so far? Seems to be heading up nicely! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

I'll be able to 'show off' my PPP-equipped car by then too http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Richard

Richard,

I make it 19 people who've replied so far (includes 6 from the EVO board). Of course, some people might bring a friend/spouse/partner.

Hi Grahame
Please put me down for a lunch (meat variety !) and her indoors is trying to get Sunday off so may need another - will let you know asap. (mentioning her reminds me of the old one about "whats the difference between a terrorist and my wife ? - you can negotiate with a terrorist.)
Stan

Butty 08 April 2001 08:20 PM

Still hope there's room at the inn?
Please put me down if there is another space.
Regards

Nick

GMAY 09 April 2001 02:05 PM

I make it 22 people (includes partners/spouses/friends where indicated) which is about the limit for the pub restaurant, although there may be some room in the bar area if there aren't too many locals!! There is another pub in the same village which could probably take some "overflow".

Here is the menu for Sunday lunch; 2 courses for £7.50:

Roast rib of beef with Yorkshire and veg.

Roast leg of lamb with Yorkshire and veg.

Roast pork loin stuffed with herbs & peaches + veg.

Fresh salmon fillet, Dijonnaise & tarragon sauce + veg.

Vegetarian option (not specified)

Choice of dessert

You can order in advance, if you want to be sure your choice is available...(probably advisable as we've reached the limit on the number of people the pub can cater for).

fast_wrx 18 April 2001 07:33 PM

Count me and my wife in - if you have any space! If not, I guess we will follow you around with sandwiches.

Just for my info - being a newbie scooby owner of nearly a week now - I just wanted to check that the offer was open to everyone, and to ask if there any charge for this jaunt.

Cheers,

Philip.

Scoob99 18 April 2001 09:46 PM
