Either abide by the law of the land or attempt to change it, legally I must add !
So many pseudo P Solbergs think that it is acceptable to break speed limits because "I have a car that is loosely based on a rally car, so I realise the dangers of innapropriate speed etc, etc" but do absolutely FA about the percieved wrong doings from HM Government.
How may actually took part in the recent M4 protests ? Very few I would wager.
As Randjit said earler, "It's so simple it hurts, dont break the law and you wont be prosecuted", well said sir

Do you drive a diesel Honda by any chance:D

Which part of the law do you struggle with exactly ???????
Are you that thick that you don't realise that if you speed that, alllowing for good luck etc, you will be PROSECUTED.
IS IT THAT COMPLICATED THET EVEN YOU DON'T REALISE THAT ???
If you are that convinced that this an affront to your civil liberties then please let us mere mortals know what you are doing about it.
Or, If what I think is the case and you do F all apart from moan to your mates about it it, then shut up and do something slightly more interesting. Perhars polishing your car for ten hours maybe ???

It is a simple fact - Don't speed and you wont be prosecuted. Same as don't Shoplift and you wont be prosecuted.

It is so simple it hurts

You're so simple it hurts, lol :D

Speeding (on its own; note speeding isn't causing death/injury by reckless driving etc.) is a 'crime' without a victim, whereas shoplifting has a victim.

Two different things.

Anyway, have a good one.

Tell a mother who has lost her only child to a speeding **** ...... because he/she thought he/she had the 'right' to do whatever speed he/she likes!!

Speed if you want, but stand up like a MAN when you get caught .... too many on here cry like spoilt bratts and say, "Its Unfair!!" BooooHoooo Cry Cry Blubber Blubber I want my mummy, please everyone let me find a way to get off my idiotic behaviour!!

Speaking to a coppa promoting mobile speed cameras at Goodwood - he said that the camera will trigger at the speed limit + 10% + 3MPH

Therefore in a 30 the camera triggers at over 36MPH

Motorway sees a trigger at over 80MPH

It's really fair in my opinion .... and I have been caught speeding many years ago .... I took it like a MAN!

Where are the real men these days?? Too many crying and wearing fookin' NIVEA!!!

Are you sniffing something? I speed everyday you fool... I think you've read it wrong. Subaru's are built for speed.

Don't give me any bull about the evilness of speeding. Go and join a gardening forum if you don't and chat to people with pipes and slippers.

Oh you forgot to have a moan about those big bad Subaru drivers doing 20 to the gallon polluting the atmosphere as they speed along the road aimlessly killing people and bunnies and soft cuddly things!!!

buy an electric honda.... better still take the bus.. least that why you won't be making the ozone worse:hjtwofing

At last, a man with more than two brain cells !!!!!!!!
What most pondlife fail to realise is that there is a law in this fair land of ours. You may disagreee with it ( that is your given right).
However, even for wannabee Solbergs, that is the law.
You have a simple choice, which even the most challenged must apppreciate,
YOU know the legally set speed limits. Exceed them and you run the chance of being caught and bearing the pain.
How difficuilt can that be to understand ??????????

I agree with your sentiments Pete

It is not just speeders though. This seems to be the Polices focus and less Traffic cops to are about. I would like to see more Traffic cops out there stopping the recless drivers and the ones without a licence, tax or ins!

Luminous 16 July 2005 10:29 PM

I think I will send them a nice big cheque. Let them get all excited, and cancel it :D

Lee D T 16 July 2005 10:40 PM

Your spot on about the speed limits Starbucks, no one should break the speed limit especaily in built up area's.
But when you're twatting it down an empty B road out in the stick's well, BRUMMM BRUMMM!!!!.

Your first statement is compelety correct. BUT, and a big but, we have a law in this green and pleasant land of ours. YOU may well disagree with it, and whinge to your similair minded pals about it, but that is the law.
Subarus may well be designed for speed, but on closed stages only. What gives you the right to deem that you can break a law and, because you think it is wrong, avoid prosecution ?
If you have made the decision to invest a huge amount of hard earned on a Rally derived car then use it for the purpose that it was designed for, not on public roads.

LOL at the 'clear road' 'good conditions' 'late at night brigade'... theyre ok. The law doesnt apply to them... Theyre judgement is more superior than the british law... Sweet jesus... We're all foooked. A flat four and a big exhaust gives chavvy daz a devine right to rewrite the laws boundaries and/or screech like swine when it gets caught.

Only for some other n0b unable to monitor his speed to go oooooooooo pepipoooooooo.com.....

Is there a papeeeeeeepooooooooooo equivalent for shoplifters or bag'eds? ahh... Welcometocrapdriversareus.co.uk should be the html....

Lee D T 17 July 2005 10:54 AM

At least the late night back road fella's are a lot less likely to run into walker's, cyclist's and farmer's and if they get caught.well thats the way it goes.
We don't buy these cars just because they look like the rally cars we see, we buy them because they are quick, handle well.

The issue was over funding of some south west forces speed gun, If they want one let them buy one, we all pay our local and national taxes for that purpose.

The equivelant for shop lifters and bag heads is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEERRR RRRRSSSSSS.

Abracadabra.

Indeed the issue was! :)

It's a bit like Shell asking us to chuck them some dosh as crude oil is kinda expensive to ship over to the UK and refine etc. They're making a killing out of it!

Seeing as the police can use speed camera revenue, why not use that for these necessary (lol) speed guns?

Better still, why not plough the money back into making roads safer and driver education?

If anyone feels strongly about speeding, they should look into joining the ABD (http://www.abd.org.uk/). I must admit to not being a member - I should re-join but their monthly newsletter used to get me so angry. They have reasoned and researched arguements into 'real' road safety issues, and the current political viewpoint goes so much against these it made me mad!

I couldn't see anyone posting here about getting caught speeding and not 'taking it like a man' (lol) - all those in their ivory towers could do with learning to read. :D
