Don't ask anything about how you car works or how to fix it. You will get 9 different answers, 8 of which are from people who don't have a scoob :D

Also your MAF (Use search ;) ) is a consumable and will eventually fail. Your engine will blow up and the pieces of turbo (Especially TD04) will slice through the bulkhead and lodge in your groin. You will as a result end up walking like a Chav :D

The bigger the Turbo the longer the lag the bigger the bang :D
The smaller the Turbo the shorter the lag and the smaller the Bang

There are a gazzillion options in between. Finding the solution is called "Tuning" It's a hobby. Do it your self and don't ask peoples opinions about your chosen route. You will get replies from the 8 out of 9 non scoob owners telling you that you are a fool and that your car is going to explode. You will get paranoid and sell your car :D

Don't ask about 'zorsts. Go to a meet and find out for yourself what they sound like and which one YOU like. I was recommended a Nur Spec as a quiet back box. Turned out the bloke only had one ear drum and that was on it's way out :D

If your thread gets moved, live with it. The mods have heard it all before!!

Just cos their post count is high, doesn't mean they are cool ;) (Bubba and Tel are though ;) )

You MUST visit the muppets forum at least once per day. Experience the lighter side of scooby ownership

Learn that long posts are usually really dull and boring so the skill of skimming becomes vital :D

That's it

Welcome Chav's (Pre 97 cars with huge turbo's 7 inch through to 2.5 inch back up to 5 inch decatted systems and fag burns in the seats)
Enthusiasts (97-00 classics. Various states of tune, generally un thrashed and trashed no fag burns but some decent mileages) and
Newbies/Dabblers/second car owners/more money than sense folk, anoracks (MY01 - Present + all the special edition stuff WR1 Type C etc etc (Generally un molested, twin tailpipe bearing, less than 3,000 miles a year, still shiney underneath when in for its 6 monthly service, stone chips that have been touched up, still on OE pads after 3 years)

Above all have fun and take everything with a pinch of salt :luxhello:

Mikey

SJ_Skyline 17 February 2005 05:18 PM

Mike, You don't half talk some rot at times! ;):D:cool::thumb:

Gridlock Mikey 17 February 2005 05:26 PM

Sorry SJ, what car do you have? Chav :lol1:

Bubba po 17 February 2005 05:31 PM

I think Mikey has it about right... :lol1:

Impreza_wanted_need_info 17 February 2005 05:44 PM

LOL..

The grammer one is the funniest for me. Im dyslexic so mine is shocking. Through Uni and college etc i just have spell check and help to correct punctuation etc.

But forums are where we all type 100+ words a min while working or watching tv, its hardly an important assignment for works which needs ot be spot on...

I always been confused about people moaning about those kinda things! Just got to much time spare. lol

Brun 17 February 2005 05:52 PM

Don't ask questions in Scooby general that clearly need to be in another forum.
Does my fcuking nut in :)

st3ph3n 17 February 2005 09:04 PM

The Angry Flower guide to the apostrophe - http://angryflower.com/bobsqu.gif - should be consulted regulary. Knowing the difference between your and you're, their, they're and there is also beneficial.

Of course if you can't spell and aren't great with grammar then never mind. As long as your post makes sense when you re-read it then you're halfway there, and people will understand you.

You do all read over your posts to make sure they make sense? No?

You are part of the way there if you don't use SMS-speak. :)

1. If you own a Pre96, you can ask what a ScoobyECU is and understand all of it's benefit's....BUT don't expect to ever own one ;)
2. If you own a MY97/98 your pretty much stuffed when it comes to modifying the standard ECU
3. If you own an MY99> any mod to the ECU will be lining the pockets of ECUTEK.....Dave Power knew a good thing when he saw it.
4. Don't beleive all the hype about 100RON fuel being a must have if you are running a standard Jap import (Prodrive actually ran more boost on a Jap ECU for Pre96 UK cars).

Brun 18 February 2005 12:03 AM

and avoid discussions about hating WRXs and whether it's a front end skid or understeer...
