jesus h christ!!!

What are they going to do next? ban the colours?

Black - derogatory to africans and others, ban it?
white - derogatory to the white race, ban it?
red - derogatory to native americans, ban it?
yellow - derogatory to chinese / east asians, ban it?
green - um, can't think of one, green is SAFE!!!
orange - derogatory to chinese / east asians, ban it?
purple - um, can't think of one, purple is SAFE!!!
blue - hmmmm, don't know if a frozen eskimo counts, but i think it's safe!!!

OK people, if you have anything that is black, white, red, yellow, orange or similar then you should destroy it as it might be PC 'unsafe'

It seems as though we really are getting that bad doesn't it.

I panic if I say "black man".

"****, should I have said coloured, dark, or nothing at all". PC creates problems.

Discretion and politeness is good. PC is very bad.

May he sedition hush and like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush,
God save the King

yeah I know what you mean, the funny thing is the PC version is just as bad, are you not inferring that they are someway infirior or different by using 'dark' or 'coloured'?, that very example of PC is hypocrytical in itself!!!

The people who think these things up must be incredibly thick!!!

Go back to when people could talk normally. FFS get me out of here.

TV shows where there were 2 neighbours, one was called Honky and the other was called Golly. People could be happy with who they were and even have some light hearted fun.

Its just **** now.

OllyK 13 August 2004 12:12 PM

The PC crowd want labels removed.

He is NOT "A short, overweight, balding white man" he is "a person". Cool let's go and arrest him on that description

Which PC crowd is this? Link?

The TV show you are referring to, Senior AP, was Love Thy Neighbour and the black guy in it was referred to it as 'nig-nog'. Do you think words like that acceptable?

F$ck 'em. Simple.

I'm not going to panic about talking about everyday things and live in fear. This is a forum after all....or am I wrong.

Yep, worth a giggle and if you repeat this kind of crap enough you'll get plenty of billy bullsh*tter idiots down the pub claiming they know some PC do-gooder who actually uses them.

That's as maybe, but "black" is starting to become unacceptable word when used in any context, which is absolutely crazy.

It is stupid. Black people I know are proud of their 'blackness'. Far from wanting to deny it, as the politically correct decree, they actually want to be identified as 'black' people.

By constantly drawing attention to, and making issues of, these sort of things it can be argued that the PC mob themselves are in fact the racists.

A Police force (the Met?) is no longer allowed to use the term "flip chart" because it may offend Phillipinos. A Phillipino girl at work thinks that is utterly crazy.

In Canada, "red indian" is a no no. Use "first nations" or "native Canadian".

In the US, a goverment official was fired (but later reinstated when sense prevaled) because he used the word "niggardly".

Fecking crazy. Or should that be intercourse sanity challenged?

I thought black was the new brown:) I'm totally confused now:)

Dracoro 13 August 2004 02:04 PM

I noticed all the PC lobby are really doing is removing single words descriptions and replacing them with a number of words that are meaningless to say the least. I reckon they had an english teacher at school who used to insist on 20,000 word essays.

You've got completely the wrong end of the stick on this one mate. Nothing at all to do with 'racist undertones'.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/m...er/3557750.stm

His complaint was that the hymn was 'heretical' in that it put the love of one's country above the love of God.

Yet another misunderstood news story for the 'PC Conspiracy Theorist' brigade to jump on again eh?

EvilKyote 13 August 2004 02:26 PM

hmm yeah 'black' is an unacceptable word now, it should be replaced with 'oppositely challanged white'

hands up who owns an oppositely challenged white impreza!!!

totally rediculous

Think you will find the story covers both arguments:

Maybe because white people was never abused by the blacks back in the day which lets be honest most of this racism stuff has come about, we only have our ancestors to blame for all this....

Not saying I agree with any of it (far from it infact and I'll still say what I want and how I feel where ever I am as long as I know in myself what ever it is that Im saying is not offensive)

Great believer in you can say anything u want unless its given in a context of offence pointed at some1 else....
