Could be very interested too...i take it a dealer could do a deal on some decent tyres...some Toyo's would be preferable.

MikeyTang 23 August 2004 01:33 AM

I have these already but would be interested in 2 of them in Bright Flitter. Let me know price and delivery

jaycee 23 August 2004 10:53 AM

Right lads, I've spoken to my dealer (car not drug! :D ) and he'll do them for £190 + VAT per wheel, works out at £223.25. Any interest?

Jason

Is that on any quantity.....?

jaycee 23 August 2004 11:29 AM

Based on 5-10 sets but they'll be flexible. ;) I didn't ask about delivery as I don't know where everybody is based.

Jason

That's a damn good price! Would need to confirm delivery (I think you way ooop north Jaycee?) costs etc - I'm in Hants.

Also, anyone got these in Gold...any pics?

jaycee 23 August 2004 03:13 PM

I'm working on them for free delivery! ;) Watch this space!!

Jason

STI Sideways 23 August 2004 05:18 PM

poss even cheaper

I have been in contact with a supplier that said he would be interested if the quantity was enough.....will email him now and see whats the best he can do.

I am deff in tho whatever he says...

By the way anybody using the toyo proxes r888's yet. on toyo's .co.uk site

jaycee 23 August 2004 05:25 PM

******UPDATE******

Free delivery is a no go, infact, delivery is a no go full stop! The dealer doesn't have the facility. Bad news over.

Good news, the price has dropped to £180 +VAT per wheel. I can arrange delivery through CityLink for approx £12 +VAT per wheel. (waiting for confirmation)
So it equates to £8 +VAT for delivery!! :D :D (based on a set of 4)
How is this all sounding???
We'll have to agree the logistics as the dealer isn't willing to order the wheels until they have cleared funds. Ideas??

Who's in then?

Jason

nescoob1 24 August 2004 09:01 AM

I'm in. :)

STI Sideways 24 August 2004 12:48 PM

count me in

yep I am in too.....where did you say the dealer was again???? can we pick up from the dealer????

jaycee 24 August 2004 01:58 PM

List so far

1. jaycee
2. nescoob1
3. STI Sideways

The dealer is K T Green's in Otley, West Yorkshire. I don't see any problem in picking up directly from them for those who are local and it saves me sending them out!
Payment needs to be in 2 parts.
1. Payment for wheels- Cheque made payable to K T Green Ltd £211.50 inc VAT per wheel.
2. Delivery - Cheque made payable to Alpha Telecom (that's me!) for £11.75 inc VAT per wheel. Parcels will be sent by Citylink on a next day delivery.

Send both cheques to me and I will take the cheque for K T Green up to them, they will bank it and then order wheels upon cleared funds.

Anybody wishing to pay by credit card let me know and I can make the arrangements.

What timescale do you all want to work to? 10-14 days? Gives people a chance to get their names down and cheques sent off etc.

Smatt 24 August 2004 08:41 PM

back online

Many apologies for not replying, I have been offline compliments of BT.
I have collated Who/Where/How many and think we all might save a bit if we buy from two suppliers, North & South.

South
Smatt x 4 (Hants) + WR Grill & Springs
WRXPete x 4 (Hants)
Trashman x 4 (Hants) + pos Springs & PPP
Nevetas x 4 (Essex)

North
BAH x 4 (Tyne Tees)
Jaycee x 4 (Yorkshire)
STISideways x 4 (North)
Skunk x 4 (Edinburgh)
Dougies549 x 4 (Scotland)

Silvafox in Nottingham (not sure which buy would be nearest)

I am not sure about:
Nescoob1 x 4
ChristianR x 2

This way we could all probably pick them up and save the Citylink charge. Also Citylink can have the tendancy to only deliver 3 out of 4 parcels. They get sent on wrong trunker and are a sod to track down. There insurance also wouldn't cover the cost of a replacement.

If this sounds ok I will get prices for the South & Jaycee for the North.
Can we try to confirm what is best for silvafox, my dealer is near Swindon but may deliver north of there.

Can Nescoob1 & ChristianR please let us know if North or South.

Smatt 24 August 2004 08:52 PM

I Will post prices based on above tomorrow morning 25/08/04

Smatt - did you see http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...1&page=1&pp=20 for springs? I've put my name down for that but could still be up for wheels once price is confirmed. Would be interesting to see if there is any dealer prepared to discount PPP at similar levels (we're talking 15%) that would be £300 :D :D :D :D

jaycee 24 August 2004 09:20 PM

Smatt, you have PM. ;)

Jason

Smatt 25 August 2004 11:02 AM

Final Prices

These are the best prices I can get, they include delivery to myself in Basingstoke. All prices include VAT. These prices are just over 15% discount

Part Number Desription Price
SACC2562 18" PFF7 Wheels £230.00 (min 4 sets)
SACC2544 01-02 STi Springs £165.00
SACC2555 03 STI Springs £190.00
SACC2554 01-02 WRX Springs £165.00
SACC2566 03 WRX Springs £165.00
SACC2568 WR Grille £190.00
SACC2577 WRX Diffguard £135.00
SACC2578 STI Diffguard £135.00

For those who are interested in having them fitted at the dealers, they willbe given 10% off labour charges. This I am sure will also count on servicing.
Unfortunately they are not willing to give discounts on PPP.

At present Subaru only 9 wheels and are out of stock of Grille's & Guards.

If any other parts are wanted please list as they should be eligable to 15% off.

STI Sideways is a soft sothern b*****d as well!!!!

working on a cheap source for toyo's, will let everybody know asap

Trashman 25 August 2004 12:59 PM

Smatt,

Have you confirmed with duSTI about the springs and Jaycee about the wheels? I'm not bothered who I get them from just want the best price overall. Shame about PPP, but I'll look thru the catalog and see what other goodies I can think of ;)

Who is your dealer? Is it Simpsons? What sort of pricing are they talking to fit springs e.g. number of hours and rate/hour and does that include alignment etc. etc.

I'm definitely up for a set of springs and a set of PFF7's. Don't care which GB or which dealer...discuss amongst yourselves ;) :D

Trashman, it seems that Smatt can offer a much better price for the springs than I can, I suggest we get ours from him.

Rgds.

Who's getting what from where?
Smatt, your price for the wheels is dearer than mine even taking into account of delivery although I can understand the convenience factor for the Southern boys.
How are we going to run with this? Continue on this thread or start 2 new ones for North & South?
All suggestions welcome.

:D

WRXPete 25 August 2004 04:34 PM

Smatt.....thanks to that unholiest of all things, the surprise bill through the door, i'm going to have to say no to a set of wheels.....but i'm still on for a set of Prodrive springs for a My03 WRX.....if they can fit and service all in one go then that'd be cool....which dealer is it anyhow??
Hope this doesn't mess up discounts and stuff guys!!! :(

Jason I'm from Redcar near Middlesbrough so I would be wanting to buy my wheels through yourself.

Cheers

Smatt 26 August 2004 09:52 AM

Hi Chaps

At present Subaru only have 9 wheels in stock. They are out of grille's & diff guards. The dealer is Simpsons & they reackon 2-3 weeks for the wheels.

For us southern softies, I have got quotes from Mitcheldever on tyres.
All prices include vat.
225/40/18ZR
Goodyear F1 GSD3 £114.60 each
Pirelli P Zero Nero £116.95 each
Pirelli P Zero Rosso £113.42 each

Wheel allignment £18.00

They may also fit new springs & do geometry @ approx £100
Then do wheel allignment

They reackon F1's are superb in the wet (just what we need in this country) although they are a bit noisier than Pirelli's.

Off to West Country for long weekend so will check who/what/where next week.

Have a nice weekend
