Erm, nope.

Correct.

Not really.

There's no such thing as an "STi 7 Prodrive". STi7's are all 2001MY, and the "Prodrive Style" cars were all 2002MY.

The best way to use the numbers is, as Phil says, simply not to use 'em at all. However, if you are going to use them, the only system with any sort of legitimacy is

MY01 cars = STi 7
MY02 cars = STi 8
MY03 cars = STi 9
MY04 cars = STi 10

But one of the models, MY03 I think there was a difference in engines between JDM cars and EU destined cars. The JDM cars got twin scroll turbos etc while the EU got VF35's.

I think......

Correct Conrad. Your point being? :D

The Fixer 09 June 2004 06:16 PM

Nothing m8, just that there was a difference between JDM & EU :p

greasemonkey 09 June 2004 06:23 PM

Exactly. :) That's why trying to lump the various JDM, UK, Eu, US and wherever cars together under a single "number" has always been a confusing and ultimately pointless exercise. It never worked on the Bugeyes either, as there were detail differences (different turbos, transmissions etc.) between the UK and JDM cars anyway.

As said above, if you're going to use a number, the system explained above is the only one with any legitimacy at all. However, it's simpler all round if an MY04 STi Type UK is simply called that, an MY03 JDM STi is called that, and so on.
