Get well soon! Its a good thing they got him - he will go down for it for sure.

Just a note - dont know how many of you know this - but the Scoob does have auto lock - I only found out the other day - if you read the manual it tells you how to get it working.

Cheers

DaveD 27 May 2004 12:08 AM

Was looking forward to meeting Greg and Alison again this weekend. :(

They are such an easy going and enthusiastic couple - hope they get the wagon back and put all this behind them as soon as they can......

muddy 27 May 2004 12:14 AM

That's really s**t, hope Greg recovers from his arm, and Alison is ok.

Was speaking to them on Saturday about future events, hope it doesn't deter them from Scooby ownership, it would be a great loss to the subaru community.

Get well soon Greg and Alison, hope to see you at the next show.

Craig & Tanya

yoza 27 May 2004 12:21 AM

Billy - Good point, especially as my wife is now driving our Impreza! However, she's paranoid anyway and always locks it, but best to be on the safe side. :(

Might be worth having a thread to show everyone how it's done. ;)

On another note... Guess which scrotes address will be revealed when he's up before the magistrate (and following that, judge!)? :D  :D

Aaquil 27 May 2004 08:13 AM

There are places in the world where they chop off thieves hands. I think they should introduce that here. I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery. Carry a big Maglite in your car full of batteries then you can see get their arm broken!!! Piece of s***.

Scott W 27 May 2004 08:34 AM

 OMG

Greg, when you read this I hope you are feeling better. I cannot believe this happened to you, and I hope it doesn't put you off (which I can understand if it does) owning another Scooby. I remember seeing your car when you originally purchased, and then through you posting various pictures of it, seeing it slowly transformed in to the great looking car it was.

I hope the Police do have the right person and that they get a bit more than a few hours community service for this!

All the best mate....

Scoob99 27 May 2004 08:41 AM

Best wishes to you both, get well soon Greg.
Cheers
Colin

New To Scoob 27 May 2004 09:05 AM

Sickening, I hate seeing these posts but unfortunately it's the society we now live in. I never lock the doors on the scoob, if somebody wants it they can try me but if the Mrs is driving especially on her own she always locks them, even her Clio does it. As for the auto lock IIRC for an 03STi its, ignition on - keycode - 5 - ignition off, I might be wrong though.
Really hope this little sh*t gets whats coming to him.

John.

Lemmy 27 May 2004 09:11 AM

Sorry to hear this, Greg (Gina and I met you and Alison on the IOM last year). I hope you get better soon and are able to make the IOM trip this year.

Alan

Jen 27 May 2004 09:20 AM

That's terrible  Greg and Alison, I hope you recover quickly...was looking forward to meeting you this weekend - but I hope I'll meet you at a future Scooby event instead. B*stards. Glad you're both ok though.

Makes me soooooooooo mad  :(

The Police have caught a suspect and i have asked for his address ;) so I can shoot the "BAST***"

Makes my Blood Boil!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get well soon Mate!

Aaquil 27 May 2004 09:58 AM

SCUMBAGS!!! I HOPE THEY DIE OF SOME REAL NASTY, PAINFUL, HUMILIATING DISEASE. SCUM OF THE EARTH.

Richard Askew 27 May 2004 10:37 AM

FCUK :(

Any of the Worcester lot let me know where this happened (PM me) and, if local, any details on the bloke arrested ;)

JDM 27 May 2004 10:43 AM

Another good reason to get anti hijacking installed ASAP, anyone know which is the best one?

Sympathy to greg don't let them get you down.

TheSilverScoob 27 May 2004 11:22 AM

I have only had my Impreza for 5 days and I am already thinking about getting some Pepper Spray or legal equivalent.

I teach Taekwondo (Korean Martial Art) 4 times a week and sometimes we do self-defence classes that involve the use of rubber knives. I think I may keep one or two in the car. There is no way you could do any harm with one but shouting and swearing at someone wanting to take your car while waving one about may make them think twice about it.

Although I have been training in different martial arts for the last 15 years, it pays to try preventing any confrontation in the first place. I always lock my doors before I set of and I am always aware of who is standing around when going to the car and parking up.

It’s a sorry state of affairs when you have to think like this but if your not aware of what’s going on around you something like this could happen any of us.

K9VYN 27 May 2004 12:10 PM

Greg/Alison,

i am so sorry to hear this. firstly i hope you make a speedy recovery. secondly i hope your car is undamaged (assuming your at all intersted now now some sh1t has been in it). its not been a lucky 6 months or so for you guys form the Scoob point of view (considering the T.O.D Revisited).

with the wagon sorted and looking exceptionally mint, i thought you'd be looking forward to a great summer of Scooby motoring and meets.... and now this. its totally your decision, but please don't allow this to deter you from enjoying what is a great car and community - i for one would resent the fact that i was cheated out of meeting great people the likes of you guys because of such a thing!

hope to see you guys again real soon,

Kevin

K9VYN 27 May 2004 12:13 PM

the sickening thing is - that f'ing to$$er still has rights after infringing on someone elses :(. if i was copper on this board i would discreetly give up the details of all scum like this so they could get what's owed to em!

Keigo 27 May 2004 12:59 PM

Greg and Alison, I'm really sorry to hear that. If there is anything I can do, you'll let me know, right? Tried to call you just now, but your mobile's switched off. Assuming you are still in hospital. Give me a call when you come out, and feel up to it. But until then, I hope you make a swift recovery.

Some of you will know that I was car jacked back in January in Erdington KFC, too, so I know exactly how it feels (except I didn't have my arm broken...). It makes my blood boil, especially, as K9VYN pointed out, the scumbag retains his rights in the eye of the stupid British judicial system. In this case, though, it is not just a car theft, it is an assault as well as (assuming) armed robbery, so hopefully the court won't be so foregiving.

The Zohan 27 May 2004 01:31 PM

Best wishes to Greg and to Alison. A speedy recovery to Greg as well!

I hope the fecker who did this is done for attempted murder and car theft and get 10 years min - but i doubt it.

TheSilverScoob 27 May 2004 01:36 PM

The culprits won’t get punished nearly enough in my book. Will Greg get much more that the familiar:-

‘……..here’s a crime number, thanks for your call’

T5NYW 27 May 2004 01:41 PM

I don't know Greg & Alison, but to hear of this horrendous event is really shocking. I'm just glad that it wasn't anymore serious than it already was and I wish Greg a speedy recovery.

Happy the police have caught the scumbag and I really hope he gets his comeuppance !!!

Tiny Tim 27 May 2004 05:48 PM

BL@@DY HELL

Greg and Allison our thoughts go out to you. Hope your Op has gone well today and you will be back in the fold soon.
It only seems 5 mins since we were on the IOM together and then this happens.
If the 'Suspects' details were ever to be leaked out I would not mind paying him a visit.
Sorry we can't come to the hospital as baby Sophie is too demanding but we hope to see you soon.

Tim, Maria and Sophie

PS - Best wishes also from Anthony, Sandra and Alex.

T5NYW 27 May 2004 09:29 PM

SimonRB5,
Has printed off this thread and taken it to the hospital today to cheer him up :D and to be honest all the comments here will certainly help

I do know the Ward he is in but Don't think it wise to post it ;)

Regards,

Tony
