Religion is the root of more human suffering, intolerance, death and war than anything else on the planet. Life after death only really crops up as a relgious option. Created by humans and all codswallop in my humble opinion.

It's not possible to define a point when something became "alive". The first self-replicating molecules came into existence and everything else since has been incrementally more complex levels of organisation based upon the activity of replication.
By alive do you mean "conscious"? -Because there are lots of living things that don't have that quality. |

Is there life after death ?
No, I don't think so, not in reincarnation or some sort of heaven/hell/valhalla/Kubla Kahn way. But in one way perhaps we do live on after our deaths. The way we have behaved, the deeds we have done, the way others think of us. We affect the lives of others. If you have ever been inspired by others then maybe a little bit of them lives on in your accomplishments. Similarly there are many screwed up people in this world because of the abuse they have suffered. |

I think Telboy's first post was very good and covered the whole thing very well. Yes I don't think you meant to denigrate the whole human race Nacro, but it did sound like it though.
Younger people see everything in black and white while older people with much wider experience of life find that their thinking becomes more modified in that respect. The only thing to say I think is that if you truly follow your conscience and live according to natural law in the way you behave towards others, that is the best you can do. You have to believe what you honestly think and act accordingly. Les |
