If you are over 30 try Liverpool Victoria who don't charge extra for mods
Not always true my friend....

Didn't charge me for my downpipe but hiked the premium up (admittedly by a small amount) when things like Dawes etc was mentioned

Cheers
Si

I'm currently waiting for an insurance payout. If this is still for sale when I get my money I may come for a test drive. When does the MOT run out? How do you explain that your austrailian WRX is actually a UK Turbo 2000 AWD to your muppet insurance company?

Danny B 05 February 2004 07:56 PM

PhilA,

It is insured as a Subaru Impreza 2.0T WRX (Import), it doesn't matter that it is a UK spec unfortunately
Like I said, if it isn't gone by Feb 22nd I'll be getting it re-insured and keeping it :D as this is one sorted car.

Danny B 07 February 2004 01:13 PM

I have taken a deposit on this today, car will be collected within the week http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/mecry.gif

I'm just glad it is going to a good owner who I know will enjoy it as much as I have.

Let me get this house move out of the way and I'll see how much money I've got left for another Scoob :D
Back to the 1.8 Vectra for a few months

PhilA 07 February 2004 08:43 PM

Does that mean your paying import (jap) insurance on a UK spec car with 40BHP less?

Danbo 12 February 2004 06:44 PM

Im looking forward to collecting the car tomorrow Danny!! :D It will be well looked after.

Phil,
with regards to the insurance...

It is only a small premium over a Uk car to be honest, without the mods declared i could have it insured for only £750 (Im 27 with 5 yrs NCB) The mods add on another £250 which I think is fair. This is not far off what I would pay for a UK car (would have been about £700 unmodded).

The car is such a better example than similarly priced Uk versions I saw that any extra is worth it. :)

Hope you enjoy your new motor.
