I thought Singha was like http://smilies.networkessence.net/s/...dday/vomit.gif

Batemans Skegness brewery produces some good stuff.
A nice pint if you can find it is John Smiths "Old Tom" mild.
Face lager has to be the French 1664: why we only get the watered 5% stuff, not the French 6% stuff, is beyond me.

Ale = Black Sheep
Beer = Bud (Fresh beer tastes better :) )

TONY

Anyone tried Molsons - its a canadian beer - comes in a stubby full size buttle with a gold leaf seal around the neck.

Superb Stuff - but not cheap in pubs

If you're in Sainsbury's and about to buy some cans of Stella, try the Cans of Lowenbrau (sp?) Pils in the light blue cans. Fantastic lager.

Also if I fancy a light crisp lager, bottles of Peroni or San Miguel are my choice.

dome 06 October 2003 10:02 AM

Either Tennents Velvet or Caffreys, or failing that a pint of Wife Beater(Stella)

deanimus 06 October 2003 10:19 AM

Leffe has just entered my local pub, damn nice :)
Usually I go for Stella or San Miguel.
Or Budvar in the rares places it available.

NotoriousREV 06 October 2003 10:24 AM

Dorada CCC Especial, about 25p per bottle but you have to fly to Spain first. Dos Equis is pretty good too.

Can't stand bitter, I'd rather hit the malts, thanks.

Lager - Stella
Beer - Waggledance

If I just want to take the stress out of a bad day or need a good nights sleep then I'll have a couple of cans of Special Brew

druddle 06 October 2003 10:49 AM

There is only one proper beer. Rutlands finest, Ruddles County.

ProperCharlie 06 October 2003 10:51 AM

ahh the good old Special Brew - lager of champions

Mark Miwurdz 06 October 2003 11:14 AM

6X is the way forward but make sure you come down to Wiltshire and taste it out of the barrel e.g. The Raven at Poulshott. Bottled version's not bad and the tinned stuff is best avoided.

Lager? It has to be Warsteiner. Sadly, very difficult to get in Blighty (unless you know different, of course).

Cheers
Kav

Mufasa 06 October 2003 12:40 PM

what would scooby do 06 October 2003 01:00 PM

Any micro-brewed pale ale in the states is the titties biscuits as far as I'm concerned..

:D:D

drb5 06 October 2003 01:06 PM

keo beer from cyprus:D

Howee 06 October 2003 01:45 PM

Now Ringwood brewery did a couple of top notch, one off beers called 21 not out and Boondoggle..... Can't get them anymore so I guess it'll have to be Hopback Summer Lightning as the best beer ever, in the history of beer (or Cobra if having a ruby).

DRUNKNORGY 06 October 2003 01:47 PM

Got to be Hoegarden, and Cabernet Sauvignon (a good one of course)

wideboyuk 06 October 2003 01:49 PM

Why is there a strange correlation between Stella and getting lairy(sp?).
Whenever someone has a couple of the 'ol fighting juice' things always liven up immensely!

blair 06 October 2003 02:29 PM

it's got to be a pint of Cale Breweries Deuchars IPA - lovely pint, as refreshing as lager but without the gassiness.

A great session beer - I could drink it all night and indeed, I often do ! :D :D

ScoobyJawa 06 October 2003 02:34 PM

Budvar is good, but Gambrinus is better
That was ok, but I preferred the Budvar and Krusovice myself!

vindaloo 06 October 2003 04:56 PM

Lager: Proper Kronenbourg 1664 in 75cl "Diva" form. 5.9% (used to be 6.3). Anything cheap from Auchan in Dunkirk.

Dark beers: Westvleteren ABT, Abbeydale Black Mass, Tomos Watkins (or whatever it is now) Merlin Stout, O'Hanlon's Port Stout. Samual Smith's Oatmeal Stout.

Light coloured beers: Enville, Summer Lightning, Piddle in the Sun, La Chouffe.

Vindaloo.
