there is a guy that used to work for my dad and he is bmw mad, hes just bought a v plate 520i (i think this is the smallest engine). Car cost about 9k i think since then he has spent another 8k on M wheels, a god damn awful spoiler, Mskirts and badges everywhere and an M "handling kit",

Last time I saw him he said how do you like my m'd 5 series, I replied you should of saved your cash and bought the real thing that way you will not get dusted by every medium hot hatch around.

He didnt like that to much and he didnt include me in the round at the pub. (should of kept me mouth shut  )

Hmmm ...

That's strange - wouldn't expect a BMW driver to behave like that ;-)

tiggers.

sport bm's have m division bits on them, hence the M badges in places....i have a 540 sport which has m badged steering wheel, door sills, etc. this is because the car has bits of M stuff (in fact there is little visual difference between a 5 series sport and an M5 apart from the exhaust.

when i had PPP on my scoob i had a prodrive sticker on it...seems the same to me?

Skittles if you mean am I being serious about the M3 with 320i badges the answer is yes. As I said, by coincidence I saw it yesterday and it was definitely a real M3

I dont see anything wrong with a full replica having the badges on it - I had a friend with a full replica Sierra Cosworth (Including engine and drivetrain).

However.. to see standard base models with top of the range badges hanging off it seems a tad silly to me.. as they really are not convincing anyone with half a clue.

My wrx ra has 2 sti badges and sti mudflaps, but in my defence :) ive only had the car 1 1/2 weeks and they will be coming off soon. Not really because I feel like a sheep in wolf's clothing but more because I prefer a sleek debadged look.

Hmm mabey more of a fox in wolfs clothing ;)

Andyr, I did the similar with my Uno Turbos, one was a 55S and the other was a 60ie :D Neither were standard either.

I now drive a 1.4 16v Octavia ;) Great for upsetting VW and Audi drivers, not to mention many others. :D

A well known club DJ in Liverpool called Davy T drives round in an e46 BMW convertible. One day he turns up at Williams BMW and asks if he can buy a '3' for the back of his car. My mate who works in the parts dpt looks a bit confused, informs him that a '3' cannot be purchased on its own.

My mate inquired further into the reasons for this strange request and then folloed Davy T out to his car to find the reason.

Turned out that he had a 320 convertible but wanted to swap the '2' for a '3', and thus, be driving a 330 convertible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I put an 18 today badge on my misses on her 30th birthday but it didn't make any difference and fooled nobody!:) So i decided to get rid of her and go for the real thing!!!:) :) :) :)

Robin, Ive seen similar.

In some offices around Sloan Sq theres an E46 M3 conv that was badged up as a 320i.

I thought he'd spent ££££££££££££ssss on making it look like an M3 cos it has the 4 pipes until I had a close look at it and heard the roar as he started it up.

I saw it again not long back and it was fully de-badged.

Ones that amused me were guys who went to scrapyard and boaught the vauxhall and astra and cavalier badges and cut and shut them to make RAVER, RASTA etc - guaranteed "smokers" - and police favourites

Saw an Escort Cossie a while back...or at least I thought it was a pukka one. It was a 3 door, had the wheels, flared arches, big wing on the back etc, etc. Looked like the real deal...from a distance.

Got closer to it and noticed the colour coded rear door handles
