:D

P20SPD 06 August 2003 04:32 PM

Carlos, sussed out what you meant:D

The speed would be , ;)

C 06 August 2003 04:58 PM

feck off :p

Evo's rock ;) cheeky barstewards :D

wait till mine is finished ;)

All scooby drivers have a secret hankering for an Evo anyway a 13.07 second run with a clutch that slipped in every gear isnt bad:p

P20SPD 06 August 2003 06:09 PM

So, i did a 12.89 with a slipping clutch:p

pugoetru 06 August 2003 06:28 PM

and were looking for a run in the 10s :D

5 Type R 06 August 2003 06:30 PM

P20 SPD

Have to agree with the concensus.
Sit back and focus on something else for a little while like the house etc. It will give you enough time to make the right decision.

BTW Your car looked very good on Sunday mate.
Whats the latest spec of it? I missed a month or so of the forum leading up to TOTB

C 06 August 2003 06:30 PM

piss off :p

yours hasnt got a smoking problem & a nasty misfire too :(

Race ya with my new engine then :p ;)

David_Wallis 06 August 2003 06:34 PM

OK... steven will race you..

David

andypugh2000 06 August 2003 06:55 PM

P20SPD, What horses are you pushing in your wagon as i have a wagon with a pipe and filter and was just wondering how much you have spent and how many ponies you will get for your money :D

Edcase 06 August 2003 07:58 PM

How about paring some weight from it, if its going to maybe be a second car?

carlos_hiraoka 06 August 2003 09:20 PM

Steve YHM ;)

:D

P20SPD 06 August 2003 09:55 PM

Carlos, thanks for the mail;), helps focus the mind so to speak.

Chris, anytime, may use the other car i may have available ;)

Edcase, weight is a good thought, still have steel bonnet.

Andy, i guess its around the 350bhp mark, and probably 340lbft torque, Spent quite a bit TBH (read £1,000's) getting it looking and performing how it is.

Steven

Fatman 06 August 2003 09:57 PM

By the looks of it you've got a crackin' car, P20. Enjoy the fruits of your labour. The grass ain't always greener...

Edcase 06 August 2003 10:06 PM

Steven - and no doubt rear seats, air con, leccy windows, spare tyre etc etc etc.

Costs you nothing to strip them out....

David_Wallis 06 August 2003 11:47 PM

no aircon.. leccy windows have to stay.. :D

David.. on behalf of steven :D

StickyMicky 07 August 2003 12:29 AM

why dont u post the same question on a skyline board and cross refrance the replies

lol
u will get this

skyline board says "get a skyline"
scooby board says "keep the scooby"

StickyMicky 07 August 2003 12:30 AM

isnt this in the wrong section anyways?

P20SPD 07 August 2003 08:00 AM

No, because one of the options Mickey is what to do with MY current car, not just which car to get.

Steven

Edcase 07 August 2003 11:02 AM

air con saps power and leccy windows make you look like a poser :D

Power to weight is king.

Unsprung weight also. Get some light wheels and brakes...

Pavlo 07 August 2003 11:02 AM

For a day-day car i think Steven's car is great.

For a show/drag/track car, put the money into something cheaper and less critical.

Paul

P20SPD 07 August 2003 11:15 AM

Get some light wheels and brakes...
Got them already :)

Cheers for the complement Paul

Steven

Andy.F 07 August 2003 11:21 AM

Agree with Paul :) I've pondered what to do next to my car for the past year - next step involves big money ie 2.3/2.5 dog/6sp box etc all for what ? to save a second getting to the 1/4 mile marker. Is it worth it ? mmmm ? I enjoyed driving my car more when it had 330 bhp as it felt like I had given it a good thrashing :D Now, even with the current power you really have to concentrate when peddling hard or it will bite you. Another 100+ bhp and its going to become a straightline machine and even less fun 'on the twisties'
[disclaimer] I reserve the right to change my mind on this after having a shot of Davids car :D [/disclaimer]

Andy

Edcase 07 August 2003 11:25 AM

Andy. Totally agree. My car is all about trackdays and b roads, which I why I am stopping when I reach 330-350 'safe' horses. In fact, I'm more worried about big torque than big BHP. The last thing I want is something that is too powerful for the handling. Currently my situation is the polar opposite :D

john banks 07 August 2003 11:59 AM

It is the torque that makes it an animal though and throws you all over the road in the dry :D or  depending on how far it throws you :)

David_Wallis 07 August 2003 12:35 PM

no john, thats cos you drive like a girl and have one hand on the laptop and the other on the wheel.. :D ;)

David

Andy.F 07 August 2003 12:40 PM

It's not so much that part John, thats fun :D
Its the power that has you approaching the next corner on your favourite road Waaaay faster that you have ever done before  Then the faster curves which were 'flat with gritted teeth'(but left you smiling) now require a hard stab on the brakes !
Maybe I should buy an M5 ;)

Edcase 07 August 2003 01:11 PM

right off to donnington :)

Not gonna be fun in this weather...thank goodness for knocklinks and octane booster ;)

ChristianR 07 August 2003 01:20 PM

I would say you got the goal you wanted, now leave it as it is. Don't go spending further money on the car to get it to go even quicker etc etc.... otherwise you will go down the slippery slope of spending and spending....
