Fair play to him i say, looks like a very good job and i like it. :)

....ducking and running for cover....:p

Madjay 20 June 2003 04:06 PM

i quite like it and if i had the money i'd buy it if it was a bit more affordable.

for people that slag it off because it is "modded" i think ur being a bit oxymoron as i see loads of "modded" subaru's on this form and dont give me the BULLSH1T about OOO these are performance mods! i dont exactly see how putting a sti8 look alike carbon fibre scoop on a classic is exactly gonna Change the performance and i see alot of keen interest in the wide bodied Scooby's so i wouldnt go slaggin this guy off at all. infact most scooby drivers are just the same except u'r cars are most expensive and more powerful!

i have finished my rant, it just sometimes gets to me when u read some stuff on here.

pbee 20 June 2003 04:15 PM

each to their own, it looks like a proffesional job, unlike a lot of death trap nova's you see on the roads. And the escos imperial blue is the best looking ford colour by far.

yikes, no mention of cav turbo brakes to go with the blown lump upgrade.

10k well you could get a nice lightly modded scoob for that sort of cash, and the scoop actually does something. So who would pay that sort of cash for a phase 1 (86-90 ??) Nova FFS.

I would give him £500 so i could then hire a monster truck and crush it

beemerboy 20 June 2003 04:19 PM

madjay, you sound like the exact person i'd expect to buy a glossed up shopping trolley.....

you forget that some cars are performance cars - right from the start, whereas, some will NEVER be!!!!

start by asking your mum if you can paint her car, drive it about a bit, if you like it, and all the 14 yr old girls swooning at your colour coded bumpers, make this guy an offer for his Nova.

After all, you ARE the man..

BB:)

Alpine99 20 June 2003 04:43 PM

not for me but you have to admire the time effort, love and money the guy's put in...

David_Wallis 20 June 2003 05:05 PM

I like it :D

TopBanana 20 June 2003 05:25 PM

you forget that some cars are performance cars - right from the start, whereas, some will NEVER be!!!!
Did you see what Lotus did to that Skoda on Top Gear?

Dutch Scooby lover 20 June 2003 05:26 PM

Not my cup of tea but the owner has put a lot of time and money in this car
Its not like some tarted up 1.2

7 Foot 20 June 2003 05:46 PM

I must admit I give it a thumbs up too. Not really my cup o' cha but really well done.

<cough> Isn't that Leilani the Page 3 girl in the front seat?

Fuzz unplugged 20 June 2003 05:52 PM

I started off thinking "fair play the guy has put the effort in and it's turned out quite nice... for a nova ;)

then I read this.
Full lock was pretty poor and the car wouldnt drive well with passengers in it. However, this gave a good indication of how amazing the car was going to look.

what an IDIOT !!

Andy

Luke 20 June 2003 06:15 PM

No worse than a few of the cheap scoobs been driven around with 1/2 halfords hanging off...

Freak 20 June 2003 06:18 PM

lol
i could give the URL of about 50 threads 'discussing' this car.

lmao
p.s he is a sound bloke-and the car was scrapped i believe.
he now has a nova on 20" rims

Ian_S 20 June 2003 06:22 PM

looks like the scooby chip on the shoulder gang are out in force...

scoobydooooo 20 June 2003 06:45 PM

the way i feel is , its his bleedin money he can do what he wants with it , how people can criticise is beyond me . i mean i think smoking is the biggest waste of money EVER ! but i dont go up to every smoker and tell them that !!!

Leslie 21 June 2003 12:36 PM

Beemerboy

I really can't understand why you should criticise the bloke. He is entitled to spend his cash how he likes. I think he has done an outstanding job on the car. Not my personal choice but that doesn't matter at all. The engineering work is impressive and I bet the performance matches it.

As someone said-with that "talent" sitting in the car he is doing all right:D

Les :)

ADP 21 June 2003 12:41 PM

erm his name is Karthik - is that a joke, asin Car thick??

actually think it looks alright, just try and find a buyer though at that money

NotoriousREV 21 June 2003 12:55 PM

Hmm, let me think, I can get a R32 GT-R for £8k, or a good Scooby for £9k or a B reg Nova with a bodykit...

Ian_S 21 June 2003 01:16 PM

or you could build a scooby killing nova for less than 9k...

and its cheap to run and modify, and not have to worry about being carjacked or having your house broken into.

or have the reputation that scoobys have now

plus its not the same as all the other cars on the road and you have built it how you want it. maybe some people should respect what others want to do to their cars.

rr_ww 21 June 2003 01:41 PM

Well Ive seen it in the past and those pictures just dont do it justice, it really is a heap when you get close to it. Panels dont meet evenly and the paint is more cellulity than a fat birds arse :D

As said above, it was broken up, as no one is going to spend 10 large on a d reg nova regardless of the bodykit!

class_A 21 June 2003 01:56 PM

i hate nova's, far too many rusty yellow 1.2sr's with 4" peco tailpipes but you have to stand back and admire the work that the guy has put in. he seems to have done a lot of work himself and as a "show car" i think it's a pretty good effort.

AndiThompson 21 June 2003 03:28 PM

[query]or have the reputation that scoobys have now[/query]

Oh yes, I'd much rather drive a car with the reputation Nova's have :D

Freak 21 June 2003 03:34 PM

you practically do nowadays if you drive a scoob
Argue the toss if you like- go to the local kev boy hangout and see for yourself.

muppets are abandoning suxos/novas and going scally scoob......early ones/uk 4 doors affordable now....coming to a drive thru near you soon.....sideways ;)

Flame suit firmly on. ::p:

Ian_S 21 June 2003 06:07 PM

do you have to wear rockports and tracksuits now to drive a scooby? :p

fin 21 June 2003 09:44 PM

I like it i had a corsa gsi 20L 16V Turbo a few years ago fast as f%ck in stright lines faster then all subarus i raced and M3 but with all that weight up front it handled like a oil tanker

ChristianR 22 June 2003 12:59 PM

Don't see what is wrong with the car? fair play to the man - but I wouldnt pay 10k for it!!

Turbo_Steve 22 June 2003 07:09 PM

He had a unique car and some fun. Isn't that what lifes all about?

And if I had to go back to an impreza now, it would HAVE to be a wagon.

scoobypete 22 June 2003 07:11 PM

I know 'K' he owns type K styling, you should see some of the cars that come out of the body shop!!!! almost ever one get in to a magazine!

Pete

Dougster 22 June 2003 07:14 PM

I think it's OK!!

Nice wheels.

Fatherted 23 June 2003 08:05 AM

what is wrong with you people.....why do you always have to slate someones hard work ?...............is it jealousy ?

ok....so its a nova....not my kinda car either.....but the world would be a bloddy boring place if we all liked the same thing !!

J4CKO 23 June 2003 11:04 PM

I quite like it and as you know I am the doyenne of good taste around here, so there.

Not what I would buy but to be honest my desire for a Scoob has waned of late, its funny all the Scoob owners saying what a tasteless piece of poo that Nova is but have a word with most of the population and they cant tell the difference between that and a Scoob, shiny blue car with gold wheels and a noisy exhaust, sound familiar ? I know about all the rally pedigree and I love Scoobs but to be honest most non car people class it as a knobheads car having canvassed a few, non car people like nice sensible VW Golf Diesels and stylish TT's (ahem)
