I dont hate any animal, how can you 'hate' an animal, sheesh
When you're three years old and the f-cker attacks you.Thats how.

Jye 10 April 2003 03:58 PM

Exactly Dave P, thats what Im up against here.

Jye 10 April 2003 04:01 PM

--When you're three years old and the f-cker attacks you.Thats how--

Hate either your parents or the animals parents for being so dumb as to let a 3 year old near an animal with the potential to cause harm. Anyway, 3 year old kids are wee monsters who would probably attack the animal first, those milk teeth are killers ;)

hey don't mess with a Shaolin monk they kick ass, don't you remember "Kung Fu"?

Plus isn't talk of physical confrontation a bit silly? Or are you guys just having a laugh?

MikesWagon 10 April 2003 04:23 PM

Jye,

same thing happened to my sister years ago, alsation from up the road took a shine to the lampost at the foot of the garden. She bagged the crap, hung it on the owners front door and rang the doorbell. Few words exchanged, but never happened again.

Are you friendly with your neighbours? Have any of them seen it? Maybe pressure from more people in the street will help this tool see sense.

There's no excuse for not picking up after your dog, I've always got nappy bags in jackets, trousers and usually some in the car. I even used to see a one armed dog owner scoop the poop then tie the bag with the aid of his teeth.

basal_lobe, master/dog relationship... are you an animal physcologist? Milo does give me funny looks sometimes when I clear up after him.

Mike.

No it was just something a dog trainer mentioned to me as a possible cause of a dog attacking its owner/bad behaviour. I can see how it might work like that but I'm not 100% convinced.

Diablo 10 April 2003 04:31 PM

Paulr

Clearly you have had an horrific experience. But please don't use that as an excuse to suggest the use of poison.

D

Mossman 10 April 2003 04:59 PM

Interesting thread.
I agree that it is a BIG problem and little gets done about it - like most things in this country :(
Dog owners need educating, saying that, many I see around my neighbourhood do carry plastic bags and pick the offending excrement up.

As to the problem of the chap letting his dog "go" outside your house, I think the manure idea is marvellous! :)

Jye 10 April 2003 06:36 PM

Thanks for the replies all, think I'm gonna let it go one more time, see if this morning 'chat' has any effect.

Basal Lobe, yeah you always get the odd idiot who 'tries' to threaten people on the net, they are usually insecure peeps who cannot debate things sensibly anyhow, cant see the point of it myself, unless people actually do travel hundreds of miles to meet others and have a punch up, lOL. Still as long as it keeps the dreamers amongst us happy m8 ;) I do 'think' Shaolin was jesting though.

The idea of shooting cats or any other animal is pathetic to me, especially with something like an airgun which is liable to maim the animal, sorry but even if said in jest I think its out of order.

Think the thread should be closed now before more morons jump on the band waggon I will RTM it myself.

Cheers again for the 'sensible' replies anyhow ;)

super_si 10 April 2003 06:42 PM

Maybe your just attract **** Jye :D:p;)

Jye 10 April 2003 06:45 PM

I said sensible replies Si, but I will exempt you from those ;)

Alas 10 April 2003 09:30 PM

Jeez you lot think you've got probs. The guy next door to me walks an elephant past my gate every day:D

SuzyQ 10 April 2003 09:52 PM

Well Dogs Can't help but pooh..and wee!
And they need to go somewhere ...I am lucky as my dog will not do either if on a lead ..I couldnt stand the thought of having to walk round with a pocket full of pooh ..lol ...as people don't want dogs going on the streets but where are the bins to put offensive waste into???
I have trainned my dog to only go when off the lead and only let her off the lead in places she can go in ...it's not the dogs fault and not all owners are morons..alot are though
not much you can do about it if you have tried the environmental health and dog warden and all of those.
but just thought i would have to post ..oh and if we talking bout licences..i think its more improtant to make people have to have a license for having a child more than a dog!!!

Marky-San 10 April 2003 09:59 PM

Pick up poo and throw at owner. Quite provocative but seems like a powerful statement better than any words.

J4CKO 10 April 2003 10:00 PM

I couldnt stand the thought of having to walk round with a pocket full of pooh

I thought women had handbags ?

I do a slow clap when our Dog starts pooping on the pavement, it would put me off.......

Red Scooby widdow 10 April 2003 10:35 PM

Being a dog owner , and a responsible one at that. I always have pooper scooper bags in my pockets. My dog ****s, I am responsible for cleaning it up. Simple as that. And there's no one more annoyed than me when I see piles of other people's dog's excrement not only on pavements but also on football fields, tow paths, country parks etc. It makes my blood boil. What effort is involved in carrying a small supply of plastic bags with you, and at the appropriate moment just whipping one out and scooping the offending mess up ? None at all. Most local councils now give out these bags free of charge and provide plenty of poop bins.
As for the usefulness of dogs.... Mine has been there for me over recent months . I have had a particulary bad time and he's there unconditionally no matter what, its a great comfort.

SuzyQ 11 April 2003 02:49 PM

when walking to the woods where i walk my dog there is not one single pooh bin its a 20 minute walk ..there is no pooh bin near the woods at all infact only when out at country parks have i seen pooh bins ..i do pick up pooh if its in a public place or on a footpath ..but i think the best idea is to train dogs not to go while on the lead.
handbag ..oooh yeah just what i want with me when hiking through woodland!:p
I would not be without my dog she is amazing company and I too have found her a great help over the last few months of my life ..she knows when things aren't ok and she hugs me ..in her doggy way ..ok this can be annoying especially when i'm trying to do something but its lovely ..she loves me unconditionaly(as long as i feed her..hmm is that a condition to her love do ya think :D)

Jye 04 October 2003 01:58 PM

Cheers Jason but that just the usual half baked council policy that cannot or will never be enforced due to lack of staff, funding etc etc. Ive been down this route :(

--Include the name and address of the person in charge of the dog--

And hes gonna just tell me, lol.

---If fouling occurs at regular times, it may be possible for a dog warden or officer to witness the fouling and take action accordingly--

LOL, what rot, yer m8 it happens every single thursday at 8.15am, hahaha.

--If the local authority decides to prosecute an offender you may be asked to make a statement. You will have to name the person concerned and give information about the offence. An officer will assist you with your statement--

--The court must give a copy of your statement to the offender if requested to do so--

You will then have your windows put in, your head kicked in and your car trashed. The police when called will ask for two independant witnesses, yawn these council policy makers really do live on another planet.

Im surprise they dont want a photo of the said t**d or a description of its size colour and texture :D

The cat comment is a waste of good bandwidth, the thread is about dog s**t, who cares if you have some sort of phobia and hate cats?

I dont hate any animal, how can you 'hate' an animal, sheesh :(

You might as well just apply that dubious logic to birds etc, seagull s**t is like battery acid and what about pidgeon fanciers (strange to fancy a pidgeon IMO anyhow) :)

Cats generally bury their s**t (perhaps thats what pisses off gardeners mind) :) They dont dump it on pavements though to be trod on or picked up by kids playing in the street. Cats are practically wild and cannot be trained to c**p where ever you want them to, so that factoris out of the owners hands. I believe they dont take to a leash that well either but generally will poo in a litter tray when required.

I'd keep a cat any day, a bl**dy great lion so I could set it on moronic dog owners and cat haters ;)

No the problem in the topic is with me having to avoid stepping on huge steaming piles of canine s**t every time I walk out the door when a bit of consideration from the dumb dog owners could avoid it.

I know you've all been talking about dogs but I find cats even worse. They come into your garden dig a hole in your border and cr*p in it.
Just what I don't neeed especially as I have kids that play in the garden and to top it all this ginger fuc*er uses my car as a spring board to get up and down so that it can climb over my fence.
I think I have two options:
1. Go round to th owners house and scribble over their car with a nail, just as mine looks now.
2. Fetch my air rifle from my parents house and frag the bast*rd.

I might even do both.

Some dog owners might be irresponsible but IMHO ALL cat owners are!!!!
There should be a law against that sort of damage they do to a cars paintwork. Is there one????
Rant over(for now)

just read the other 2 pages you have discussed cats:rolleyes: I'll get me coat
