Ok chaps.. I'm up for it - not even sure how much power I have - don't care really - car is a hoot and it scares my brother :D

I still cannot believe there isn't more people interested in this rolling road day. Hasn't anyone seen the excellent feature in this months Banzai Magazine with the RX7's at G Force, that could be your Scooby in the next issue.

Where are all the big powered Scooby's that we keep hearing about ? Good job Harvey, Nito and Rich Wild are going unless the results are going to make the Scooby's look
underpowered and add fuel to other forums claims that big power cannot be extracted from the boxer engine in the UK.

Colin.

What time will this likely start/finish ?

Might be able to make it down for a look see but not planning to run my almost standard MY98.

BUFFER 24 March 2003 10:07 PM

Chris,

Would like to put my P1 on the rollers. Will contact you by landline in the next couple of days to register.

Regards,

Buffer

aus73 25 March 2003 10:14 AM

The updated run list so far is:

1. Rich Wild
2. Colin C
3. Phil Savin
4. Tim Bomford
5. Tony Montana
6. Nitosport WRX
7. G-Force STi
8. WR Blue
9. John - STi 8
10. Harvey S - STi 6 (416 bhp)
11. Nitosport Monster
12. Adam - STi 5 Type R
13. MOSI TT - EVO 7

Maybe:

1. Scott W
2. Buffer

The day will start at 9am - bit of a safety briefing and run through how the day will proceed. First car on the rollers at 9:30am. With 25 4 wheel drive turbos doing 3-4 runs each we will finish around 4:30-5pm.

You get power graphs (flywheel, wheel bhp, tractive effort and flywheel torque), boost graph, and air/fuel ratio. Then the car goes outside for a couple of Banzai pics.

Great stuff Chris - I hope there is somewhere local that does bacon sarnies by the way...

aus73 25 March 2003 11:07 AM

Did I forget to mention there is a cafe across the road (read 10 metres). Bacon Sarnies no problem.

Looking forward to it - btw this is my first rolling road do so I'm sure it'll be an experience:)

Bacon sarnies PAH, I remember you laid them on yourselves for those other cars like MOSI's! Whats wrong with the same courtesy?

I suppose at some time during the day will come the time to make the McD's staff's eyes pop out ;)
:D

John STI 8 25 March 2003 10:47 PM

You mean McD's staff have the ability to react? That's something I've yet to experience. J

aus73 26 March 2003 07:15 AM

Tim,

We've been looking at Subaru's for a while now. I put a post up on Scoobynet a while ago -

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?ThreadID=100079

and didn't get much of a response. The same post was placed on the MLR, and we ran 24 Evo with magazine coverage - and free bacon sarnies. The people that run on Saturday will be well looked after ;)

I have a lot of motorsport and automtive technical contacts, and we are contemplating running FREE rolling road days (sponsored by a 3rd party) in a few months time. The people that support this event will obviously receive a preference, as some of the days will only have 12 cars.

Sorry to be a little vague, but we have a few non-disclosure agreements in place.

RICH WILD 31 March 2003 07:57 AM

Hi guys,

I'm going to be running my green Scoob this weekend as I've already been with the white one and I've done some recent mods to the green one and would like to get a comparison. It's not quite as modded as the white one (still on standard ECU) but it's prettier and should give decent figures. :)

Do you need the spec in advance Chris?

Cheers

Rich

Scott W 31 March 2003 12:38 PM

Unfortunately my clutch will not be fitted until after Saturday, so it looks as though I will have to drop out. :(

Sorry to be a pain in the backside.

I will be at the next one!

Scott

colin c 31 March 2003 06:16 PM

Hi Rich,

Not the white 1 :( I was looking forward to seeing your white beast. Will be good to meet you anyway.

The purple Scooby isn't looking too hot at the moment, slightly modified rear bumper, long story but the girlfriends Corsa has also now got a modified wing :o

Colin.

Chris.Palmer 31 March 2003 09:09 PM

Tim,

Good to meet you today - If I get the exhaust fitted I may turn up on spec - & give it a run if thats OK.

Still got overboost probs though :(

Hate to ask questions based on a "may turn up" but :
1) Can they map boost?
2) Do they have a select monitor or det-cans for checking knock?
3) What is the load on the rollers - went to a scooby shoot-out recently where there was hardly any load on the rollers & all the TD04s did OK & the TD05/Hybrids were sh1te as they just didn't boost.

Chris

Hi Chris

Good to see you too.
