Pete

I am interested but I may want to do this before these dates as I am planning to decat my Scoob on the 16th August and was wondering if Star would put me on the rollers at 9.00am and back on in the afternoon to see the difference. Will they do this as a one off?
If not then count me in for one of your dates.

Pete,

just to let you all know (the format of the day isn't 100% confirmed), that there is going to be a Scottish Subaru Spectacular at Knockhill on September 8th.

It will include a show and shine area (with prizes for best standard/modified/UK/Import), track use, off road cars (4x4), skid pan use, rally rides (in a rally car around the perimiter rally course), plus other stuff such as high speed passenger rides around the track etc.

The plan is to have the cars arriving just before lunchtime, and the event will run for the whole afternoon. No entry fee, though there will be a charge if you wish to take your car on track.

More details when available.

John

Hi Pete,

Sorry, I can't make either the 25th August or 1st September now unfortunately. 8th would be OK  . However, rather than mess you about, I'll withdraw from this session and look forward to the next one. Thanks, I'll catch up with you later.

john banks 03 August 2002 11:25 PM

Been on holiday. T-uk will go bonkers unless I put my steed on soon, but it looks like things are full up with a reserve for both dates?

What is the cooling like for TMICs now?

Neil XR 03 August 2002 11:32 PM

Thankful got front mounted intercooler, and i have cut some bodywork trim away to get a better air flow to it

ChrisG 03 August 2002 11:51 PM

John B,
Are you free Sunday 8th Sept?
I am dying to get a run on my car and it would be a shame to miss out.
Uncle Pete,
Any chance of asking Jim@Star (if there is enough interest of course) if he could manage a half day for the stragglers?

Ah, go on..........

Andy.F 04 August 2002 02:03 PM

John

Last time I was there they had a new dedicated 'hand held' top mount fan. May be worth bringing a hand held water spray to soak the cooler before the run, to help it lose the heat.

Or, you could buy a charge cooler from me ;) oops....too late , It's sold.....roll on the front mount :D :D

Scoty 04 August 2002 03:38 PM

Last run I done at Star, I asked Jim if I could contunially spray water over the top mount during the entire run. He had guy's in to help that day, so I was fortunate enough to have one of Jim's staff spray water over the TMIC for the full run. This was including the two fans.

It made an improvement over just pouring water at the start of the run :)

Not sure if anyone else has done this and noted improvements, but it might be worth while to ask Jim if he would consider letting it be done again?

iainalpine 04 August 2002 09:06 PM

thanks for the place mate. will see you there
