LOL > DodgeT,
2 cut down on faffing factor jus get an FMIC an chuck out the topmount ;) Hell I even did the math for u bud :) Current goin r8 4 a 2nd hand TMIC (in decent nick) is £100.
£100 / £0.055 (per litre cost with a canister) = 1818.181 Litres.
Hey that`s a lot of water to use before break even point ;) Then there`s the hassle factor of removing & refitting the TMIC  :) Been there m8, better off jus using the right stuff in the 1st place. BTW deionized is good for the battery & radiator as well :)

like your way of thinking, but, try buying it for that price from Halfords, its more like 50p a litre, thats up by a factor of 10, so that means ill break even after 181 litres, & at my current rate of spraying that wont be too long!

What about a little bit screenwash ? it's non corrosive and non clogging.
IIRC the EVO 7 use the screenwash bottle as it supply for the intercooler spray.

correct andy, i was pondering for some time as to whether or not use the windscreen washer bottle for my waterspray, because everybodies scared of the damage caused by the screenwash.
When looking at my neighbours evo6, where does the water for the IC come from, the same windscreen washer tank!!! So thats where mine comes from!

If the rest of you are so worried about clogging your IC that you cannot sleep at night, what about Calgon!!! If its good enough for washing machines!

edited to add; i use a very weak solution of screenwash, about 50mls per tank full.

You could use some methanol, as the latent heat of evapouration would remove even more heat than water, I think.... Vodka anyone?

RT 01 July 2002 02:33 PM

Katana, yes we can drink out of it. Actually, tastes better without the "hardness"...

Wrongo !

An evo 6 has its own seperate water bottle for IC & Rad.

The washer bottle is in the boot.
