I have a few maps saved while trialling quicker spool. I'm not sure if they will let me flash between runs though as its a £35 offer so I assume they want you on and off relatively quickly. (But I could be wrong). I did ask on the phone if I can sit in the car and log data and they were happy with that :)
I have been mapping the car on 98 Shell V Power but will fill up with Tesco Momentum 99 for the dyno. That should help a bit I think. |

I personally really like momentum. Never had a problem with it and it's an octane higher than shell. But they are both good and I use both :)

Mine is fine on momentum at circa 600bhp.
It was originally tuned for 98 Ron in Australia I brought the car back with me last month. Will get it checked for UK fuelling at some point. I've had to take out some wastegate duty as I was hitting boost cut at 1.9bar on Momentum. Im putting that down to the colder weather though. |

I think we are getting a bit off topic here guys, on a final note though, like I have mentioned, I find tesco momentum absolutely fine, mapped my own car on V Power, then when I was happy with it, I switched to momentum, the logs show the same timing, same boost levels, afr and the car feels just as fast. Only difference is Momentum is about 10p a litre cheaper around here!
Anyway, my plan after my dyno run is to try out different mods to get use to mapping different things. Going to fit a 3 port, then possibly a decat downpipe. Then hit the dyno again to see what difference those mods make. |

thought i would try lean spool again, I learned out the AFR more than I did last time and also added more timing than last time and result! At 3200 rpm I managed to consistently get an extra 0.1 bar + of boost lol. Doesn't sound much but you can definitely feel the difference!

Congrats, but its probably down to you advancing the timing rather than leaning the AFR`s, when you lean the AFR`s for quicker spool you are meant to retard timing not advance
just check your not getting any DET if you have leaned AFR`s and advanced timing coming onto boost. |
quite possibly true, but my current setup feels much better than less timing with more fuel and also less timing and less fuel. Kept a very close eye on knock and it's all good even with leaner AFR and more timing. I have read a lot of people saying to tune for torque not faster spool and I think I agree, the other methods I tried feel laggy, my current setup makes the car feel much more responsive. :)

That sounds close to my current afr :)
Yeah timing makes the most noticable gains. But I was running very rich down low before. Like low 12s. By leaning the afr I find it better. Probably the hotter Egt helping a bit. |

Actually reading the post again properly not on my phone I am running richer than you boosted. I am running 13.7 up to 0.5 bar, then 12.7 to 1 bar, from 1 bar to around 1.2 bar 11.2 then 11 all the way to 1.4 bar.
As The Rig said, isn't that very lean for that much boost? 1.4 bar is my max boost I have set on my VF35 and at max power I expect to be running the richest part of my fuel map being 11. But at 2.4 bar I am sure your car is far from standard lol. Unless we are talking absolute pressure here instead of relative in which case the numbers make a lot more sense to me lol. |

As I run a standalone ecu on speed density I tune to kpa vs engine speed. |
