How can ebc sell pads for 150 that don't work?

Don't engine brake with a 5 speed mate, there's a good chance it will sh1t it'self.

You're not going to be the fastest on track so just get used to the idea and concentrate on your lines, braking points, learning the track and getting your entry speeds and correct gear set up before you get to the corner, that way you won't be so hard on your brakes and have more time out on track, which is ultimately what you are there for, not to go mental for 3 laps then sit in the pits for 30 mins while things cool down.

If you're on standard suspension you may want to have a look at a set of PCA dynamics springs and a rear roll bar as you'll soon reach the limits of the standard set up, a decent geo set up will also help massively, but you need to do a bit of reading and go armed with the settings you want for the characteristics you're after.

Yes I've thought about all this but it can get expensive.
Think I'm going to do this 1St one then go from there.
I'm not an aggressive driver so gonna try and be progressive.
If I enjoy it then I'll start upgrading.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, only reason I mention the suspension is that it is pretty rolly poley and not capable of cornering anywhere near as well as the car goes on the straight bits, so you're gong to find yourself stamping on the brakes before you get to the corner to scrub a lot of speed, honestly it's almost as shocking as the brakes and it will take a lot away from the experience.

Most important thing to remember is not to bin it, and watch out for faster cars in your rear view mirror, especially if it's your only car, also don't get involved with other cars on track, just do your own thing. :thumb:

Luckily it's not my only car,and as much as I'd like to splash out on springs and roll bars but got a family to look after. Bah humbug.
My car is a late 05 and I think has red inverted shocks and maybe red springs.
Are they any different to a standard older wrx?

The best way to improve your lap time and experience is tuition.

If they have instructors available on the day get one in the car with you, even if it's only for one session. It's invaluable.
