So today is the day I have been waiting to see for a long time.

The old, tired and abused Impreza has not only got a sorted engine - it now has lovely, fresh paint :)

Here are some pics of my baby with a lovely dose of its original flamy red. I have also thrown in a couple of more clarified engine pics (although it does want polishing up again)

Obviously it is still wet and tomorrow it will be mopped and polished up to standard - but here we have it. No parking dinks, no stone chips, just fresh and clean.

A HUUUUGE thanks to Darren and his employee George at West Midz body shop in Birmingham. Cant wait to pick up my baby!!!!!!

Anyway - enough babbling - picture time!!!!!!

Thanks for looking at my thread and ill update with some more positive news hopefully in next couple of days. Wheels to be done gloss black with red lip and red anodised bolts.
Then there is the whole interior fiasco to go....... I have posted in the wanted section - urgently need a classic sti interior including door cards with all nuts and bolts etc....

thanks micky - I am so happy at the min mate you wouldn't believe. It still all seems a little surreal that's its actually coming together :D

Wait until it's finished and the engine is ran in, then see how you feel. ;)

Really appreciate all these great positive comments all :) thought I may have been slated at first but you guys truly have lifted my spirits and made this all worthwhile :)

PM me re low rear spoiler, I have one in my shed, been sat in there for 10 years. Might need a bit of attention to get it mint tho'

tomk86 09 December 2014 06:33 PM

pm sent mate thanks :)

Won't that high level spoiler have a load of bolts through the middle of the boot though?

I thought about changing my high level one, but it was going to be a hell of a job filling all the holes and then having to have the boot painted.

tomk86 09 December 2014 07:42 PM

I have a lovely jubly gx boot lid with no holes at all :) already painted too

mickywrx 09 December 2014 08:03 PM

I've got a brand new, still has the IM inspected sticker on it, un-painted turbo bootlid. Not selling though.

BLU 09 December 2014 09:03 PM

Looks nice. I'd defo go with the low level spoiler :thumb:

Micky you're taking as long to get that bumper painted as Ian is to finish his project :lol1:

I've never touched it since I took it out the truck and stuck it in the back garden. :D

Got the car back finished today - alarm man is coming tomorrow to fit the Clifford.

Ill take some pics in the daylight tomorrow it really looks nice now especially with the sti rear clusters.

Next step is to do the wheels and whilst they are off im going to remove the suspension struts, grind the inner arches down and paint them with acid etch primer and plenty of two-pack in its lovely red. Then fit the braided lines and then its just the interior to fight with lol :D

tomk86 11 December 2014 06:08 PM

rear three windows being tinted black next Friday too! :)

BLU 11 December 2014 09:35 PM

Cool, looking forward to some daytime pics :)

tomk86 15 December 2014 07:43 PM

still haven't taken pics in daylight as been too busy -

But Clifford alarm is up and running nicely, and have so far racked up 200 miles lol.

fitted the original wrx logo to the boot lid and everything is clean and working as it should be. Was quite surprised at only 7psi it does still shift and sound half decent. Just cant wait for the full map and some funnage :)

Promise to post some proper pics in the morning - in the meantime if anybody has a decent classic sti interior do let me know I have cash waiting

Dirk Diggler 75 15 December 2014 07:59 PM

Nice Classic .....

tomk86 15 December 2014 08:24 PM

thank you very much :)

mickywrx 15 December 2014 08:43 PM

Out of interest, how is the fit of the intercooler pipe from the turbo outlet?

I could never get mine to sit quite right, so made it fit better.

mickywrx 15 December 2014 08:45 PM

Just to add;

tomk86 15 December 2014 08:50 PM

lol it fits perfectly now - but first time round it didn't I was leaking boost left right and centre. like you said had to make it sit better and also used some sikkaflex to basically create a gasket
