Com comes up when it turns on at first which i think is an american company when i goggled it .the screen stops displaying info sometimes for a few seconds.also got an old one had that repaired display went wrong

Awesome! Yes, Turn in Concepts is a company here in the US. They used to sell these data monitors back in the day. Looks like you got one that came from them. Do you like it? Worth getting one you think?

For the heat problem maybe try wrapping heat reflective tape around it? I know we have a gold looking tape that is supposed to keep heat away from things so it's worth a try.

The display is a lot better than the old one i have .shows a lot more i think than older ones ,shows peak data etc

Hmmm could explain why mine is so temperamental then :wonder::wonder:

Had one in my old car in the dash below the stereo and never had a problem, this one in the dash top is a pain :mad:

When it suffers from heat does the screen scramble and / or keep turning off ??

Will either scramble, turn off or freeze. Then once cooled again it'll just return to working again

Wonder would a small 5v pc cooling fan do a job on it, wouldn't do anything while sitting with ignition off but once running may help keep it cool?

Yep, that pretty much describes my unit.

Good thinking, should be an easy install if I could get the dam thing out of the dash pod lol

its a gift to get out, just pull the dash pod from the back towards you and it'll pop off :) my thinking is that its only a 5v feed to it I think, and the cable in is only 3 wires, +ve, -ve and signal so should be handy enough wired in.

newage, well my06 does, cuts power to the socket after certain length of time, hence I can never use the clock feature so would never run the battery down, my old classic though would run it continuosly

Does anyone have EGT hooked up to their data monitor? I have a bung in my header and I'm thinking of using it.

I wonder if some of this stuck up inside the cowling would help keep the temps down?

I think I have EGT on my one will check later today, Does anyone know how to change the mph/km setting as on mine the peak speed is recorded in mph but the (rs) is shown in km ie speedo reads 62mph and monitor reads 100 mph (not km). Car is a jdm that would originally read in km. Thanks for any help. :thumb:

Last night the data monitor I have in my car started reading all crazy symbols and numbers. Going to swap it out today with another one I have. I'm going to see if I can cool it down with something to get it working properly again.
