The amount of hip-hop Radio 1 plays now (and worse, UK Garage) compared to other genre's is getting too much, especially considering they're starting a new station for "Black Music". Does this mean we can also have a station for "White Music" or would that be considered non-PC?

I do like rap, but I want to hear a more diverse mix of genre's on the radio, if I want to listen to rap all day, I'll stick on a CD or 3.

I hate mornings, period. The whining of Sarah Cox makes things worse. I thought the screeching Zoe Slim was bad.

Bring back Dave Lee Travis, and snooker on the radio.

It used to be all Ocean Colour Scene, Oasis and Blur, White boy guitar bands, now its shifted to Black Hip Hop, RnB, Rap and Garage, it will shift again

Why not just say "we're going to get p1ssed and then roll into some club with our shirts/jackets/tank-tops around our waists then drop a few pills and act like t1t5 until 7am when we'll roll back to some person's living room with our glow-in-the-dark eyeballs and smoke weed until 10am" It takes longer, but its not half as annoying !!

oh... and don't get me started on Westwood, Trevor Nelson or bloody MOBO music....

...as for UK garage... (Sorubbish crew etc..) what bilge !!!

God I hate her. She has an ego the size of a planet and as much talent as a squashed slug! She is surrounded by yes men (and women, if we are being all PC now)and talks like a 3 three year old.
I don't really care what music they play in the morning but that grating cow has to go!!!
I have decided that I am still too young to listen to radio 2 (I'm 27) so listen to Classic FM with Henry Kelly. It's actually not as bad as it sounds. Tried Vibe FM but the Essex Gezzer (don't know his name)really pissed me off.

Dave Pearce -- how old is he? He sounds like a middle-aged BBC announcer trying to sound 'yoof' by using phrases like 'bigging it up' and 'givin it large'. Very odd. Can't imagine Trevor McDonald doing the same thing.

I used to love Chris Evans on Virgin - the 4DJ song and honk your horn were genius IMHO. Holly hotlips and Johnny boy with Dan the soundman - aaahhh fond memories of many a morning in London. He used to wind everyone up going on about how much cash he had and being stroppy and arrogant - I just thought it was a real laugh!

I now listen to Danny Baker on BBC London as Tarrant is awful and I find Coxy irritating after a while - although she is a fox I agree.

I enjoy the chat - If I want music I play a CD - Jonathan Ross is also someone I like on the radio.

Jazz FM is 102.2 'darn sarf' but I agree -- it's a quality listen. Trouble is, their morning show is not my scene (but 'Dinner Jazz' in the evenings is excellent, as is the Latin stuff on Fridays)

Coxy does me head in now, can't listen for more than a few minutes of her screaming. Dreamteam - only if your dead. Moyles does have some class moments. One time I had to stop driving as I was laughing so hard I couldn't see.

Likewise our local radio (Signal). Had a big competition to find a bird to co-present. The one that won really gets on my nerves now, just giggles and screams a lot.

No wonder I get through the 6 Disc changer in the car so often!

I think this board is a fair representation of how people feel about the breakfast show in general, prolly 85% hate her, so where the hell do the Beeb get their figures from ? they say she gained 1 million listeners ??? That cannot be right surely.

All I can say is that apart from Friday/Saturday night when Pete Thong/Danny Rampling are on the rest of it is total sh1te.

The record industry wonder why they are losing so much money, its because of the utter crap that they release and then they bung someone at Radio1 who does the playlist so it gets played 20 times a day, forcing normal listeners back to their cd players/tapes or anything to escape the crap on radio.

Get yourself an in-car mp3 player, a broadband net connection and a copy of audiogalaxy-lite, play what you like then, and cheaper than buying new cd's over the course of 12 months.

as for looks ?!?!?!? ... I saw her at Glasgow airport last summer with her bloke (probably travelling home after T in the Park)and she aint as pretty as telly & magazines make her appear
