The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the UK225 PPP

I own a WRX PPP, I'll be happy to challenge a few STI's tomoz.

Last year I manged a few 88mph 200m sprints but the TD04 was holding me back in late 3rd early 4th. This year I hope to build on it and achieve mid 12's.

I'll be more than happy with 12.9 though!

dunx 19 April 2014 10:55 PM

Wind direction has changed so 13.3 is my guess.... :D

P.S. You'd better hope Bigarf is busy this weekend..... ;)

RS_Matt 19 April 2014 11:08 PM

13.7 with 260bhp.

Got 310-320 now. Another 10-20kg shed and suspension/geometry sorted.

Arf's clutch won't make it off the line! Some sight if it does though! #8.19

EssexJamie 19 April 2014 11:18 PM

So it's no longer a PPP WRX then ;)

I'm no longer a Leeds United fan but I'm still a Yorkshire man.

EssexJamie 19 April 2014 11:36 PM

What's left on it that PPP though, guess it's been remapped, exhaust change, then WRX turbo changed?
So in essence not a WRX PPP it's a modded WRX

Arf will still be hung over so if Brina 2 is there, she'll be flying the flag I reckon :D

My terminal still sucks, 50% compression on cylinder 1? Only having 310-320bhp? other issue?

You're a crap drag racer? :p :D

Jesting aside, it's harder than people make it look. Is your power just a gues? Also bhp on it's own won't do anything.

chieftain333 24 April 2014 08:55 PM

id say that was about right, the best I could get with my old 2002 wrx wagon with 312bhp was 13.1 at 101mph at york.
then with my 1996 sti wagon with 310bhp I got 12.7 at 106mph....weight loss rules :thumb:
will be going some time this year with my new 2003 jdm sti with 358bhp,would be hoping to get mid 12's
its all about the launch in my experience, ive seen some big power cars with crap drivers do some shocking times....knowing how to drag is key

oi, you were 0.011 second late !

Some of us have been around ( a very long time ) !

Back in the day we messed around at York with a home built Cav turbo that did 15's....

It was fun, but times have moved on, and I never got bitten by the bug to drag.

It's all about power to weight and a wee bit of driver ability.

I'm fat and old and my car has no powertrain in it ! :lol1:

Not sure what it is but after 80mph my car has always sucked big time. I can't blame head wind as lesser cars were beating my terminal. I have ****ty compression on cylinder one and 3 but I've heard dynamic compression will make compression losses irrelevant on the strip. Is it the catted downpipe? Power is what Tweaks or Ollie off here roughly worked out can't remember who, tbh I don't like quoting, I usually take it to AET for a figure after a map. It was 218.7 at the wheels with 1 bar boost, got a TD05 now with I believe 1.5 bar. So if Dunx can do the maths! 0-60 is 4.5 secs and cars weight is 1270kg.

My Buddy used to have a 326bhp (with 100 shot of NOS) Cav Turbo 4x4 years back, think it was quite cutting edge back then, ran 12's I believe. He's one of those rare lads who don't bull**** about power.

banny sti 25 April 2014 02:48 PM

This was running about classic sti 5, running a twin scroll vf37 turbo at 1.3bar on a standard tmic

Billy's 60 foot beats both, shows you my well documented take off compared to the horrible top end. :(

My mates classic made 318 bhp/308 lb/ft @ IIRC 1.5 bar. Mine made 329/289 @ 1 bar. Similar spec cars apart from his had bigger injectors and a Power FC.

How much boost it's running isn't always indicative of the power it'll make.

Your catted downpipe probably isn't helping. Is it the OEM one or a sports cat?

mickywrx 25 April 2014 06:01 PM

Explain how you actually run Matt, and do you use 5th?

How I ran mine was, give it death and dump the clutch at circa 6K rpm, into second til nearly the limiter, 3rd til nearly the limiter, 4th hold and cross the line nearly on the limiter.
