What a cracking weekend of football:)

Far from that for me as i spent 27 hours travelling back from Milan due to my flight being cancelled:( I'm never going on a coach for as long as I live:D

Tell you what though Fletcher is proving his limitations in recent games. Yes he has energy and yes he breaks things up but he creates next to naff all. United really need some invention and craft in the centre.

And a Rooney alternative

Remind me please - why the fcuk did we buy Berbatov?

If memory serves me right, that transfer was a long-running saga throughout that summer (2008). Earlier on SAF could have had him for not much more than half that price, but left it too late to seal the deal. Meanwhile Man City had suddenly come in to billions, just a couple of days prior to the transfer window closing and were "in" for Berbatov right up until the last minute (along with that other summer bargain Robinho :lol1:). Daniel Levy at Spurs must have been laughing his head off as the Berbatov price shot up, rather like watching 2 demented bidders on an E-Bay auction, just before it closes.

After all that shenanigins, SAF had to do his best to keep face by parading Berbatov around Old Trafford for the press like a trophy wife.

Having said all that though, I don't think anybody honestly thought he would perform as poorly as he has in the red shirt.

I remember the Dutch auction so to speak.

But remind me - what was he really like at spurs.
Did he wander around the pitch and look like he was unable to run?

Hopefully Macheada and Diouf will be playing more and be an alternative to Rooney. Cant see Berbatov lasting out the summer to be honest, he's done nothing. Wouldnt mind seeing Eto coming still:)

Have to disagree, I think Fletcher is getting better and better. Yes he's not the quickest or maybe not the best passer but his job is to stop opposition play and pass on to the playmakers. His passing is still improving though! If anyone I'm worried about Carrick, he's done next to nothing this season and i just hope Anderson can prove his doubters wrong and have a great next season. Gibson is making progress too and has played more games this term.

We'll always get those gifted forwards in the Premier League, who don't seem to put too much effort in: for every Didier Drogba who always helps out at the back, there's a Matt Le Tissier, picking his nose in the centre circle, or (dare I say it) even a Christiano Ronaldo mincing up and down the halfway line with his hands on his hips. The thing is that if they regularly knock in 20-odd goals including the odd goal-of-the-season, we will happily forgive their laziness.

The fact is that at his peak with Bayer Leverkusen and Spurs, Berbatov regularly notched 20+ per season, so no-one had much to say about his percieved effort.

At Man U this dropped to 14 in 2008/9 and now only 12 goals (so far) this season.

Curiously Rooney's strike rate improved with the departure of Ronaldo, whereas Berbatov's has dropped further.

Mostly as hes got Valencia and Neville banging in quality balls from the right wing rather than Ronaldo taking the ball from our own box and trying to score on his own every time :)

Looking forward to the Inter v Barca clash tonight. I think if anyone can stop Barca it will be Inter mainly as they are dirty b*stards.

Turbo - if my numbers are right during his career he's scored a goal every 2.46 games and with Utd every 3.26games. But then hes very rarely played as an out an out striker - especially last year when he was joint 2nd for assists in the PL with 10 (alongside Cesc, Lampard and Gerrard). RVP was 1st with 11. Admittedly a lot lower this year with 6 whilst Giggsy is up there with 11.

The fat lady is clearing her throat getting ready I suspect :(
I can't see Wigan doing anything in that last game, but you never know I guess
All we can do now is ensure we win the last two, and so far so good.

More_Boost 02 May 2010 06:49 PM

Wigan have done Chelski once this season,so why not again, football is a funny old game and it's not over until it's over. :thumb:
