Hate to say it but I think that they have fitted the arches the wrong way, looks like the fronts are on the back. Would hate for it all to be together then have to be done again. The shape doesn't look right. :thumb:

Jolly Green Monster 11 May 2011 08:21 PM

no THEY haven't fitted anything wrong because I fitted the arches and they are 100% correct front to bad and side to side etc.. ;)

it WONT be running at SSO.. I am planning to run my daily driver at SSO.. it was decided this should be built how intended first time, and I still have no cams for the engine.

Simon

still no cams, good not to rush things but waiting along time takes the pi55. sure your eager to see what the car feels like.

do you think the daily driver would do the handling course quicker at sso than the full spec track car

25litres..

planning to keep weight to a minimum.. it may have an extra removable tank added if I need more fuel.. but with no heater, little ventilation, plastic doors and windows.. etc etc
I think 80~100miles range on light throttle should surfice.. just carry a jerry can to top it up..

They are hoping to finish them by the end of the week.

They have finished turning them and started putting my chosen profile on and I presume then need to harden them.

Any progress report???

Jolly Green Monster 01 June 2011 04:40 PM

Well on Friday ian and I removed the oe fuel tank.

I spoke to piper today and the cams have just finished the hardenning process so have to be ground or the grinding checked and then they are complete.

I have decided not to rush the car and so it will be complete when suits.

Currently I am away mapping in ireland and the car along with the workshop it is currently in are moving building/location later this week.

So hopefully all the parts of the jigsaw might start to come together over the next month or so

R1CH D 01 June 2011 04:53 PM

Good news on the cams, like you say no point rushing it and having to start again because something aint right.:thumb:

stevebt 15 June 2011 08:37 PM

So what happened with the cams? What are you going to use for a rear bulk head?

Looking good Si. Id be tempted to house all of the fuel system in an ally box out of sight and protected.

ally box = extra weight :)

pump is very loud so under the car works noise wise and cooling wise..

easy to check for leaks too.. just look under the car.. in a box I would be worried about a leak and no noticing..
