That was about 30 times as many as this years 250

Worse year was 2011-2 it took 2years to sell the saloon allotment. Then had to drop the price by £5k to do it.

Sadly since 2006 Uk been a rapidly decreasing market compared to a rapidly increasing market in USA which would you look after if your business ;)

Yes fuel, tax bracket, pulling out of Rallying didn't help but why only no choice of hatch or saloon in the UK! And 2.5 woes killed any customer base they had.

I find with my local dealer that even when I leave messages with the sales dept saying I am interested in changing the car they never get back.
IM sales rang me in November as the car came off warrantee to say they hadn't got anything to offer equivalent to my MY11 and was I interested in an XV or BRZ. :cuckoo:

I am going to hang off and see what the feedback is from the early adopters also I am sure there will be some power upgrade and ICE deals available once launched.

The trouble with low volume supply is that the after market suppliers don't have anything to get there teeth into. Why for example would anyone want to design, develop and produce anything for a target market of 250 cars.

The same problem will apply to the cars as they get older. Why will dealers want to carry stock on there shelves when there is just no demand and they hardly see a car through there service departments.

The whole situation doesn't bode well to me. Such a great shame to see the situation like this but not surprising at all. Its been coming for many years.

Thats what I've been thinking too, and a 305hp car just doesn't cut it in todays game.

Wow - there are some strange opinions on here. How does a 305bhp car, with 4-wheel drive, a 5-second 0-60, is family friendly-sized with 5 doors and costs £28999 on-the-road NOT cut it?

At £28999 the Subaru is a fantastic performance package with no rival within it's price bracket brand new. There is no point throwing £35,000 to £40,000 cars into the mix, nor 2nd hand cars that are down to £40,000 either.......

Have a look back over the past ten years. Consider the power, price, 0-60 time and the only conclusion you can reach is that they haven't really moved on. Other cars have.

Still good performance for the price but MPG, tax, parts prices, desirability, dealer network, build reputation, engine issues are all adding up as negatives.

The STI is an amazing bit of kit for the money.
Has been fr the last 6 years.
Cheaper than a golf GTI and 10 times better.

I'm a Subaru loyalist but I'm not sure where you're getting your figures from.

Golf GTI PP is about £28K, OTR.
STI is £28, 995 (not sure if that's OTR) and less well-equipped.

Agreed, the STI will be more fun but if you add in the running costs (insurance, MPG, road tax, ?engine) I'm really not sure the picture is quite so rosy for the new STI. Personally, I am waiting to see what Honda come up with with the new CTR, and I am really hoping Subaru / IM can get their act together in the longer term.

Go for the wheel upgrade as those wheels on the UK bound version are some of the worse alloys I have seen particularly for a £29k car.

Hmmm. Don't agree with you there. I wanted gold alloys, but after seeing the UK dark alloys I think they suit the car. We all have different tastes though eh?

Yes, the STI could be a great piece of kit, but Subaru UK has shat upon its owners from a great height!
As said above, consider mpg, road tax, the fact that it requires angel tear fuel

I'm not sure what you're driving at. All the WR blue ARE sold out, and there is a rapidly depleting amount left of a few other colours available.
