R.I.P Harvey
My condolences dawn sorry to hear your sad news.......
I was not lucky enough to meet Harvey in person but his advice and experience was without question. he did give me advice regarding my car and it was clear he had a deep passion for what he did.
I think everyone will agree he will be sorely missed and remembered as one of the pillars of Subaru tuning knowledge.
all the best to you and your family.......

wrx_2005 13 December 2012 08:52 PM

shocked at this news. Only stumbled across it while browsing the forum.
Met Harvey Smith in August 2012 when I had my car booked in for ported headers and up-pipe. the up-pipe needed to be thermal wrapped and Harvey asked me to jump into his car, where we went over to his house so that Harvey could do this. I remember it was a massive house as we drove into the long drive, there was his Geese running around and I was invited in by Harvey, I was fasting at this time during the month of Ramadan and Harvey apologised that he could not offer me any food/drink (what a Gentleman), he showed me around his workshop and the Subaru's that were parked up in his drive, then we went back to the garage. I remember Harveys dog running around in the grounds of his house, Harvey was very much devoted to his dog. He will be sadly missed but I have fond memories of him, during my short time I spent with him. RIP.

Never did have the pleasure of meeting in person, but from what I've talked to him and heard of him he was a good man, RIP Harvey.

Ive only just signed in after months away, very very sad. I remember him taking me to his house while they worked on my car "because it was cold at the garage" what a gent. He will be missed....

timthebat 28 January 2013 01:08 PM

I've been away from the forum for a long time and thought I'd pop in and have a look at what's going on. I saw this thread and to be honest I'm nearly in tears, Harvey helped me in my moment of need more than once and was a true Subaru guru. I haven't looked through the thread and I'm sure those words would have been said before but I felt I had to pay my respects. Condolences to all those close to him.
Tim.

Signed in after probably years away after searching for a info in google about dash bulbs, then seeing Alcazars signiture.

Subaru tuning and development may never have gotten as far as it did without the big fellas input from the beginning, RIP Harvey.

Same as many others on here, harvey was always very helpful on the occassions we spoke and in subsequent emails, his research and commitment has undoubtedly helped many impreza owners including myself. He will be truly missed.

Condolences to family and close friends.

Neil.

Like others above I arrived here after searching Google for garage floor painting and then spotting alcazar's signature.

I haven't posted on here for 3 years due to business/family life and I've been out of the car forum thing for years now, but was shocked to see this having met Harvey quite a few times over the years, back when I was younger and used to knock about with the old gang!!

RIP Harvey, and condolences to Dawn and the family.

Skooby53 19 March 2013 11:30 PM
