Back in the game! ;) They sent me a new head (including a coil) / tank and drip tip, basically the whole kit minus the battery lol Anyway its back to a lovely smooth flavoured vape again, lets see how long it lasts, before i start using another pack of coils.

Been trying the Butterscotch e-juice today and very impressed. Should hopefully be picking up my epow 2 battery tomorrow from the post office as nobody was home today when they tried to deliver.

Very, very impressed so far with the Kanger kit. It's just finding my preferred juice.

The only downside is not being able to leave the battery charging overnight, hence why I bought another battery.

bioforger 24 December 2014 05:14 PM

Yea the butterscotch is very nice, one of my favs.

my mum is a 60 a dayer..... doesn't really smoke them.. more puffs and lets them burn etc. but house/clothes stink etc etc... £100 a week easy!

do you think these are safe for a smoker to swap onto who seems addicted to the nicotine fix?

which should I buy her to try as a new year resolution??

Gear Head 24 December 2014 07:38 PM

Can't go wrong with a Kanger Emow 2 kit.

JackClark 24 December 2014 07:52 PM

As above, EMOW head and EPOW 2 battery. Get her 24mg juice and 18mg, tobacco is usually nasty but get one to start as well as something fruity.

Just been told by my sister that lives in Australia that vaping is pretty much illegal now in Queensland! Really?

Don't really understand why. Hope the UK don't follow suit!

Luckily they have mail order. I don't think they'll ban them in the UK but they will tax them.

Could not resist the boxing day only sale on the aspire atlantis,so i bit and its pretty good. Comes with 2x 0.5ohm coils(sub ohm so requires a high powered mod).

Few pics

Yes I do but the person also needs an element of willpower to persevere.

I took the plunge myself, 9 months now without a cigarette although sometimes I do get an urge but I'm able to control the urge.

I'm after a bigger capacity tank than the Emow Mega, what do you recommend that would work well with the Ipow2 battery ? Similar style to the Emow Mega, just bigger capacity and as good a performance.

lozgti1 02 January 2015 10:19 PM

They are a brilliant invention

Need to get back on vaping.

Get two. Personally I just carry a 10ml bottle and top it up.

I don't want another, they give you a great hit and the quality of the build is excellent but the Emow Mega has it's flaws. When you fill it up and put the top part back on, then turn it the other way the tank is only just over half full. It won't hold a full tank of fluid because of the way its been designed, also after you have filled it up and you put the tube of the atomizer back inside the centre tube of the tank you get fluid dripping out of the tip at the bottom, quite a lot sometimes. Somehow the top section is holding quite a bit of fluid then its spurting it down the tank tube when you re-insert it after a refill.

They all do that. To stop the juice leaving the chimney and dripping out when you fill before you open it put some tissue paper over the drip tip turn it over and flick it so the juice comes out, you should do this between fills as well.

If I had to try something else then something from Aspire is a good bet, but it doesn't fill to the top and once you release the negative pressure it too will leak from the drip tip.

JackClark 12 January 2015 04:43 PM

I'm on a record breaking coil right now, it was included with the EMOW I bought on the 22d Dec, delivered on 26th-27th and in use since then! It reads 1.6ohms and still hits like a champion.

bioforger 12 January 2015 05:00 PM

Well you must suck on it like a kid on a lollipop then, i cant better 5-6 days no matter what coils or juice i use. I wish i liked the taste of menthol :/

2 airholes open at 8.5 watts, I'm having trouble believing this one.

Rob_Impreza99 12 January 2015 05:57 PM

I'm the same as Bioforger, on average i get around 5 - 6 days from the new coils with the odd one stretching to about 8 days. Thats on 8 watts with 4 air holes.

ven 12 January 2015 06:12 PM

A quick note just in case your not aware regarding coil life, clearer juice will give better life over darker juice. Something to do with clogging up the coil inside iirc . So darker fluid=shorter life, clearer=longer life.

Coils wise(sorry to all who know, dont mean to teach sucking eggs):thumb:

Couple of drops in coil, fit in as per tank you have, let the coil sit in the fluid for 10-20 mins if possible to allow wick/s to soak up. Start with low voltage if its a variable volt device. So example ,as mentioned above the 1.6ohm coil.

Presume a duel coil as most are, this should not require too high volts as less resistance over say a 2.0ohm or more coil. Start low 3s V and use for an hour to help bed in. After this gently ramp up a little till happy,of course if get a burn taste back off ,and lower V till find sweat spot.

This "should" give over 2 weeks, really some can have 2 months but its dependent on many factors. Again fluid colour to how much V and of course how much use. Still 2 weeks+ should start being the norm for heavy vapors;)

As with most things, always buy the genuine coils for the tank, avoid the copies from places like fasttech(they sell "authentic" too which are cheaper than UK) .

Again apologies for anyone(or all:lol1:) who know the said little tips:thumb:

bioforger 12 January 2015 06:49 PM

5 airholes n 8-8.5watts for me, i always leave a fresh tank to soak into the wick, always clean out the tank between refills. But sometimes I can't resist some of the darker fluids that's what kills the life. Having said that i did only use green apple or something which is clear and it still only lasted 6 days. Some of the coils i had in one pack only lasted 1-2days with a mix of dark and clear fluids. Another pack they all lasted 5-6 days again with a mix of juices, so they are inconsistent and i always buy genuine Kanger ones. The coils are a bit of a ripoff imo.

Hear what you're saying about turning the wattage right down to begin with Ven, but it tastes like crap for me :)

Rob_Impreza99 15 January 2015 12:02 PM

This last lot of Kanger V2 atomizers have been rubbish, they are constantly burbling. Also if you unscrew ones that's been in for a couple of days you will see fluid between the battery contact and the atomizer contact point, that's supposed to remain clean so you get a good contact between the battery and the atomizer.

bioforger 15 January 2015 12:22 PM

Yup thats happened with mine to, sometimes they don't seal properly. I always soak any juice up between refills or a coil change.

JackClark 16 January 2015 06:27 PM

I'm still on the same coil! I think it might be starting to taste a bit funky, all the same, miraculous.

Gurgling was very common with the old single coil heads, awful when it happened. Tolerances are not as good as they could be and I often found that a coil that gurgled on one head didn't on another, worth a try, otherwise turn it over and flick it in to a paper towel.

I'll leave this here

Subtank Nano and Mini

Should be great with the MVP3

bioforger 20 January 2015 08:39 PM

Latest coil has lasted 2 weeks and still going, which was in the same pack of 5 where the other 3 of them only lasted 5-6days! Conclusion, Kanger quality control sucks.

bioforger 05 February 2015 12:15 PM

Jack, Ven what do you think about the Eleaf iStick 30W 2200mah or coming soon 50W mod boxes, it looks like a good mod for sub ohm and normal vaping?

http://myepack.co.uk/istick-30w.html

JackClark 05 February 2015 10:28 PM

I like them, especially the 30w, nice lip around the top. 50w I'd probably opt for the MPV 3.

My friends 20w is still going strong, button rattle which might annoy me. I don't think you could use it as a hammer like my MVP 2.

Rob_Impreza99 15 February 2015 02:31 PM

I'm generally happy with the Ipow2 battery, it performs well. The finish isn't very durable though, both mine are just a couple of months old, ive used a sharpie over the button but can't see that lasting too long lol

We've just started on the Aspire Nautilus mini's with the 20w eleaf. What a difference compared to the EVOD's!

Sorry for late reply,30w are good for the money, also allows you to sub ohm down to 0.5ohm coils. I just have the 20w version as a spare/go to mod and has been spot on for the money although it wont allow sub ohm use. The 2200mah battery is shared with the 30W version and lasts well. Can passive vape whilst on charge as well.

There is also a 50w version out, this has a 4400mah battery(of course a little bigger size). This one i would be tempted for ,even though i would never use the 50w,most my uses are 20w tops. However the 4400mah battery would last a good but before charging up:thumb:
