The biggest problem I can see would be the hammer the car would get if 8 people were thrapping it round a track constantly. Obviously with our own cars last time they had plenty of opportunity to recover from the three/four/five laps after every session. If you've got one car coming in then going straight out again things could get very hot / worn very quickly.

I could buy one myself and rent it out to you guys :) what would you be willing to pay for a guaranteed hour or two of killing someone else's motor? Just a thought.

CG... Noooooooooooooo.
Try this little experiment in the scooby, using a stopwatch...
Put the car in first gear and set off using just the clutch, no accellerator...
Dip the clutch
start the stopwatch
slot her into second
wait until the stopwatch reaches around 12 seconds
quickly release the clutch in a very uncomfortable lurch...

Repeat until bored

Then cancel the order for the rollerskate

sorry can't share a car with sticky unless it has dual controls...

One seat in the back (sticky) and My seat (on the right) a little closer to the pedals:D

Ok, in light of the busy year ahead, I am inclined to agree that a trip to somewhere like the Nurburgring would be better suited to next year. A few reasons why:
  • Al will have time to convince his wife that a T25 should be their next car
  • Gives many people (me included) this year to sort wheels/suspension/brakes, etc.
  • Planning for a sizeable group to do a run like this probably does require about 12 months to plan anyway. Let's get it right!
  • We seem to have plenty to be getting on with this year anyway!
  • These monthly meets seem to come round so fast, spring/summer next year will fly by
  • Plenty of time to extract track information from a few Nurburgring video files I have and compile some pace notes ;) It is nice to know where to brake from 155mhp, into a slow corner. Well pointed out Phil!
I, like everyone else am keen on all the other talked about events for this year, so lets enjoy them first hey!

Cheers
Simon

!!!Right, must get them wheels and suspension sorted!!!

you need to brake just a little earlier than me:)

By the time the next track day comes around you'll have access to a child seat which would probably fasten just in front of the standard driver's seat, allowing you to reach the pedals with ease. All you have to do then is use the periscope which I'm gonna (thoughtfully) install for you and away you go. Might have to extend the handbrake for you too.

HOW'S ME PC???????

And did anyone donate any DV tapes on Thursday?

corradoboy 27 March 2004 10:31 PM

He needs the handbrake disconnecting so he can learn how to drift using balance instead of crude diff destroying methods. ;):D

No DV's :(

PMSL at the heightist comments :D

Apple 27 March 2004 11:30 PM

Ta Dave :)

projucer 28 March 2004 01:22 PM

any of you guys at well lane when the tyne tees club had their rolling road day? looking at some of your pics from your last meet... noticed some cars that i had seen there that day! new age black & silver imprezas with all the rally art work done on them are obviously something else - who are the owners? blue is the most 'common' colour of the new imprezas - they all look the same!!! BUT everyone knows... CLASSICS RULE!!!

Alan C 28 March 2004 08:37 PM

That was my next step mate. :D

I wanted to get the WYIOC members in first, so I was going to wait until tommorrow evening when a few more would have seen it.

If I still haven't got the names, I'll post a wider thread..

I'll have them linked up when the Forum is BOL. I'll also have them burnt to disk for showing on Dave's Laptop for the next meet..

corradoboy 28 March 2004 09:30 PM

for showing on Dave's Laptop for the next meet
Bit presumptious? ;)

Supposed to be working
LOL :D

'the ring'.. Got me right in the mood
Fnnnaaarrr fnnaaarrr ooh err missus

STEVECHAPS 28 March 2004 10:18 PM

Hi All, Hi Al
Is "Steve" me or Maddy. If it's moi then I've got 2 family members wanting to go Karting. If it's Steve R then there's 3 of us :D

YorkshireSimon 29 March 2004 05:17 AM

Al

Those JF mpegs are superb, he really does know his Nurburgring circuit!

Certainly does wet the appetite. Doesn't get me in the mood though.... ;)

Si

Harry_Boy 29 March 2004 07:36 AM

Si - you're on early Mate..... :D:D:D

Dave - I was working - honest..... ;)

corradoboy 29 March 2004 08:13 AM

Al, have you watched IT yet ? Did you enjoy it ?

Alan C 29 March 2004 08:14 AM

Oops.. I didn't take into consideration the 'depraved' thoughts coming from some 'Old leather Pickers'. A person can't even write a perfectly sensible line without the Fnarr, Fnarr's.. deary me..

Well i'm feeling quite gay on this lovely sunny morning and I'm going to put one up the missus by talking about my ring fascination. She'll be on all fours again crying as I push forward my point that this ring visit will the most fun I've had since I showed her that video of my last ring fascination. ;)

Steve. That's you. As for Maddy Steve, I haven't got any confirmation... yet..

Unless everybody pulls out (;) ) then I'll be booking the track and geting the names over the next few weeks.. shouldn't be aproblem..

So class the event as booked' and on..

Si.. I'll be downloading the others to checking out the track a bit more... it won't help of course, but they are good to watch..!

Apple 29 March 2004 11:26 AM

Al,

So if it's raining there'll be nothing like lapping a wet 'ring and it'll be easier on the rubber as well ;):D

The position of the ' is important to save you taking it the wrong way

J4CK50N 29 March 2004 12:03 PM

Al

I have said that I will come over at WYIOC!!

Gonna ask my mate if he wants to come too!!

Cheers

J4CK50N

YorkshireSimon 29 March 2004 01:10 PM

HB, always early.... ;)

Andy, there you go lowering the town again.... ;):D:D

Si

Harry_Boy 29 March 2004 01:46 PM

Blimey Al - that'll give CB something to analyse. As well as providing a script for the next Carry On film..... :D

Apple 29 March 2004 03:30 PM

Simon, or even the tone... :D

Phil/Steve, the WYIOC forum is in trouble again.

No web site is configured at this address.
Can't get there with either link from WYIOC or direct bookmark?

Al, I think we're due an April meet thread. Unusual one though with the karting bit. I suppose we're all gonna tank it back to Fenay after the race for the last pint and a nod to the non-karters if there's time?
