Mate, you're nothing special, you're just a sh1tty lift engineer and you've been one all your working life, now you see some bloke on the internet that's done a fair bit more than you have with your life and decide that your new mission / claim to fame is to try and dis-credit him, what's that all about. :wonder:

It's not my fault you've done fcuk all except work on lifts, knock some tart up and go on holiday to marbella once a year for the last 20yrs.

We're all masters of our own destiny, if you're not happy with your life, following me around a website isn't going to solve your problems, you need to get out and do something constructive with yourself pal, and I'm sure your Mrs and kids would appreciate some of the attention you seem so intent on giving me. :thumb:

Well done mate, go and kiss your Mrs and kids goodnight.

P.S, Dress it up anyhow you like, I've been in the lift game and it ain't that great, same sh1t everyday, they haven't changed since the day they were invented, it's hardly rocket science bolting bits of metal together, wiring some switches and fitting entrance frames. ;)

Much like engine building, pretty basic stuff really, the real work is done by the proper engineers, not fitters or assemblers. ;)

:luxhello: My stalker back for some more. :lol1:

It must really burn you to see someone that's had a life eh! If the lad has lived in Germany he'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

Here's another one for you, I even pulled on our first night out at a music festival in a local park, she used to come and pick me up of a friday night and I'd spend the weekend with her at her place, she'd even do my washing, the lads I was working with hated me for it, they had to wash their clothes in the shower at the digs by hand :lol1: often wondered what life would be like if I'd have stayed there with her, she was a nurse and bang tidy too. ;)

BoozyDave 21 October 2015 09:45 PM

wow, gayallen you are a proper stalker! :cuckoo:

a lift engineer isn't rocket science is it?

When I was wiring care homes and blocks of flats (all the electrics ((inc 235mm sub mains)), door access, nurse call systems, addressable fire alarms, etc) I knew a few of the 'lift engineers', nothing like proper engineers, most aren't even what I'd call 'intelligent'! All they did was put together manufactured parts that someone else had told them they needed to fit, then press a couple of buttons to program the floor levels :lol1:

chopperz 21 October 2015 10:24 PM

having sold my last Impreza ages ago and now got another I found myself coming back and I see nothings changed, same sh!t by same names!

making those little sausage finger too fat to wire anything at all LOL
very surprised your writing so well in your posts as I thought your double chin would of been bouncing off the keyboard Mmmmmm
I reckon you made a mini hammock to hold your double chin up off the keyboard didn't you :lol1::lol1::lol1:

I never said it was rocket science you sill cnut, I never even brought up what I done for a living, it was Walter Mitty in some sort way of discrediting what I done day to day.

Yes that's right, that's all there is to it, the money is also terrible, I mean who would get out of bed for £70k-£80k+ a year or £400 a day as a tester. ;)

And you call me a bull sh1ter, £80k do me a favour. :lol1: £40k at best, the money is just not in it, even dealing with high speed sky scrapers, and certainly someone with your grammar won't have the brain power to do that.

What I done. :lol1: I don't claim to have a fantastic education, but even with my CSE grade C English language qualification, I know more than you do, and I didn't even like school, spent half the time in the hallway outside the class room and still passed.

Just showed yourself up as the thick tw4t you are. :lol1:

Boozy dave, you're spot on mate, there's nothing to it, I only did 2 spells that total about 3yrs and they were a couple of years apart 20 odd years ago and I could still get most of one in now.

You're kind off right Walter, 40k working for a company and 80k as a subby, I was a subby for many years.

I have no reason to lie or try and impress people of the Internet world like yourself.

I'm surprised it took you 3 years to get the gist of it when mapping only took you 10 minutes..

JGlanzaV 22 October 2015 08:46 AM

Ditchy, I think you will find lift engineershave had to change a lot since the invent of VSDs pcbs, programming is the clever bit these days. Times move on!

As for the guy claiming electricians are better because he can do 235mm cables etc. I always use the "brawn over brain" type of guys for that kind of work. Why have a dog and bark yourself...

The clever guys are the ones designing it, building the panels and commissioning it all...

Now I must crack on, I have a lift to commission.

:lol1: Oh how the truth outs. :lol1:

If you're not trying to impress people why mention £70/80K :wonder: and while that may be achievable as a sub-contractor, we both know that would be gross, there's all your expenses to come out of that, plus no holiday or sick pay, down days due to lack of equipment etc, etc, the list goes on and on, yes I have also been self employed / sub- contracted and I know exactly how it goes.

I made good money some months and not so good others, then just as you start to get ahead, it's christmas or the car needs something or some fcuker holds up paying you for a month or two, I spent 3yrs working to get back to zero after all my initial outlay and running costs. Then I got to the point where the business had paid for the car etc and I had about £10k in the bank and decided to call it a day when I was made a very good offer by a big company.

It's nice working for yourself, but it's not all roses especially if you're a one man band, there's only so much work you can do in a day, my break even was around £4k a month, that's to run everything and pay me ish £20k, the offer I got was £30k, my choice of car (from a nice list) 6 weeks holiday, final salary pension, shares and good prospects for promotion, no brainer really.

Still jacked it though, too independent to be a wage slave. :thumb:

I'll agree up to commissioning. ;)

In the old days you could literally listen to a lift panel to find out what was wrong with it or at least to get an idea where to look, relays and clicking in and out doing all the switching. These days much like cars, I imagine there's equipment that does the diagnosis for you and tells you what needs to be changed, ergo "fitter". :thumb:

JGlanzaV 22 October 2015 09:57 AM

You are wrong ditchy....

Commissioning is the clever bit, as it is a lot more involved than just "turning it on"... To set up, test and commission any electrical system is a lot of work. Checking the design calcs and checking the installation too....

Lift commissioning now involves writing the programme for the lifts and such what's. You are comparing an industry which does not exist in the same form you worked in it any more. There are hardly any lifts with relay boards etc in.

And the only way you could "listen" to tell what was wrong with it is knowing what order the relays should come in and checking they did. Its not as clever as you're making out ;) and that's all very well if you know what each relay should or shouldn't do ;)

Personally I think a duel map is the way to go for the best fuel economy, especially on long motorway journeys

This just highlights how much you don't know if you think today's controllers are just made up of relays. Believe it or not, today's controllers use micro processors, VVVF drives as well as can bus...Using an old controller on today's installs would be like Ford fitting a Xflow in the new RS!...I could always post up some electrical drawings if you like just to familiarise yourself?

3 years as a mate and 20 years since you had any involvement yet you post that you could still do it...Oh dear, you're making yourself look silly.

Exactly, how dare I attempt to get the thread back on topic :(

The OP has probably packed his bags and moved to SIOC by now ;)

If I were a Mod I'd have probably moved this to Muppets 3 pages ago :D
