The whole purpose of this thread was to try and achieve a 600Bhp P1 adapted for road & track use.
If I knew then what I know now I would have named the thread differently.

Basically RCM have always known I wanted to retain as much of the P1 look as possible and to use it as my daily car. The car has had many mods and the engine has had several power increases and in reality the car is now at the dreaded point.

To achieve 600 will involve different fuels and before you know it the car will be on a trailer more than the road.
Olly has given me some sound advise together with a huge list of what they could do.

Deep down I know that the P1 is currently at the best it will ever be (when considering the initial aim)

I told RCM exactly what I wanted and I now need to realise I have it.

I know that if I continue it will end up an 800 – 900 Bhp monster and that I will regret I had done it.

What RCM have done is totally nuts. When the combination of the engine, trans, suspension, brakes and the P1 chassis gels together it has produced a car that is truly mad to drive fast. Forget the drag racing ;) on the roads I'll be honest in saying it's fookin scary when driven fast, real scary.

PROBLEM: I also know there is a heap more power in the thing

ANSWER: Project Nr 2 :D

So for all the guys following the P1 thread the P1 is now finished :)

What originally started as a single page thread (on the advice of two mates) is now 100 pages of many posts and heading for 100,000 hits and that’s just mad. :notworthy

It now seems more like a forum for us Bbp junkies and that’s cool.

Made many good mates and if you lot want to carry on as a forum until Project Nr 2 starts then let’s go for it. :D.

It proves a good base of contact as well as a laugh.

Finally a huge thanks to RCM.
Ok it's general knowledge that they are not the cheapest but for quality, presentation and performance they will take some serious beating..... Truly awesome. :notworthy:notworthy

As for Project 2 :norty::norty: look out...... This will be proper quick :D

Fudge :thumb:

I'm welling up!!!! :D

On a serious note I know why you've brought this thread to a timely end.
You have began to realise that you're about to be photoshopped to death LOL and you're running scared!!!

As for your last sentence and project 2 being quick I presume you're building a car for Heather to drive??
Even a top fuel racer is a 14 second car in your hands matey!!!

SkullFudge 26 August 2009 03:24 PM

LOL, thread is remaining open and will continue with Project Nr 2 :thumb:

Project 2 has not started yet :) I have several options that I am looking at.

Watch this space :norty:

Been good reading mate, followed this right from the very start!

Car is a real credit to you and those invovled.

Looking forward to number 2!

Yet again a broken shaft on my car is frustrating. Had a good chat with Mikee after about how the tyres I have been using contribute heavily to broken shafts. The last 2 times I have tried the pod though have been very sticky on the start.

I was gutted for you mate, had my camera all ready for the 10 sec run and then loads of wheel spin and bang :(

My mate who was just behind you did a 11.4@119mph with just under 400bhp :luxhello:

Just gutted i didnt have my car with me

SkullFudge 27 August 2009 06:33 PM

This seems very weird :wonder:

The first time in four years that I am not looking forward to having some form of modification, or thinking about the next mod on the P1.
Mind you I will still be having the Launch Control activated & Air Con removed.

I looked at the car last night and for the first time I thought mmmm it's finally finished

PROJECT II

No, fella's it has not started yet but it's been in my head for several months and will commence soon, possibly very soon depending on several matters.

This is how it is at the moment.

I have been in contact with Andy Forrest and I believe I have first refusal of his current car. I am led to believe that he is selling it after his competitions finish and he said he would give me a ring.

I have been told that if I buy the car, minus the engine, I can have an engine built & been assured of, I quote, "mid 8's all day long" (even with me at the wheel) :)

Option 2
There is a certain Impreza in Japan I have my eye on.

Option 3
To find a classic that has basically been race prepared and use that as a starting point.

Option 4
Holdar's (Team Ice) car is up for grabs but the last time I saw it, it was up for £ 100,000. I have heard that is cheap and that's probably correct, but also a lot of money !. (I need to keep my wife ! cos I'm fookin useless at cooking) ;) bless her.

Option 5
Soon to be having a chat with Olly and something may come from that ?

Ready to go with what ever turns up, so it wont be long before P2 starts :thumb:

joz8968 27 August 2009 06:54 PM

...OPTION 6

Try and get 1st refusal on ZEN's dark green TA monster! :norty: Who knows... Paul may well move onto the another project if ZEN win the TA with it (which they could well do).

Think it's running c.700-750(?)

Think of the kudos too! :luvlove:

I am assuming that Paul VTR was acting in a mature manner associating Nr 2 with the next project.

I am positive that Daz DaviEs was referring to something a little more, mmmm
Northern, and he thinks I am touching cloth dying for a **** ;) :D

dazdavies 27 August 2009 07:56 PM

The proverbial turtles head :D

Best look for another box then hadn't I?

Congrats on finishing Pr 1. I love the P1 as it is and it would be a shame to ruin it for the sake of more performance.

Good luck with the new Project but I will say this all projects need a name.

There's the RCM Gobstopper. Zen's Green Goblin, Lateral's Yellow Banana etc

I think you should buy a wide arch classic of some sort and being as you're from dan sarf I reckon you should call it The cockney wideboy LOL

:lol1:

How do I change the name of this thread ?

(friggen Cockney Wideboy) :D

Popped over the frog & toad to the rubberdub for a pig's ear last night. Saw a riot at the bar leaving one guy with a torn kings lear, 2 guys with a broken errol, one guy with a stif gregory and 4 other with bleeding I suppose's. One girl had half the barnet ripping out so she poked the guy right in the mince. :D

SkullFudge 27 August 2009 09:23 PM

Thanks Dave :

It's been good fun doing it and hopefully has given some ideas to other guys thinking of modding, or knowing when to stop :).

Looking forward to the next one now.

Hi Anger. Not sure mate. I had several conversations with guys next to my trailer ?

I had a long chat with a tall guy who had an eye brow missing, was wearing split jelly bean shoes, stunk of beer and kept twitching. I figured he was up North so that would not have been you :D

I realise that some guys may be peed off as have stopped at this point Fai, but if I keep going with the P1 it will lose it's appeal as a nice example of a car that I can just jump in and drive.

There are VERY few Impreza's used as daily runners at my power level so a lot has been achieved.

I understand what you say about AF's car & I agree his driving reputation is excellent.
I realise that I have had a huge amount of stick regarding my only two runs at The Pod (all good fun), but they also know I had probs with the map sensor on that day (big probs).
On other side of the coin my first run in SleeperSy's car was within 4 tenths of it's best time to date, and the only time I have used the P1 in a days competition at North Weald I very nearly won, achieving 2 fastest laps of 4.
Mike Wilde (pro driver & instructor) drove my car that day and I was within 1 second of his lap time too, so it's not all doom & gloom :thumb:
