Tasty :D

Congrats - finally made it!

Spent all day working on mine. Started at 10am and finished at 9pm.

Rebuilt an Optima Mid Custom (got stung on an ebay purchase being sold as a "Custom Special" and foolish me didn't think to PM the seller to check) Needed some bits that only came on the SE and Custom Special.

If you have an old 400w+ power supply from a pc, you can used that with a small modification.

3 amp will be of no use at all, 5 amp is just enough but you will be running it flat out so it may give up at any time

salsa-king 30 April 2011 05:48 AM

I'll run direct off the the leisure battery then, for now! lol

I love little nitro engines. How anyone can be satisfied from a 1/8 brushless car I don't know. :)

How old?

To be honest unless under 7, get them a proper one. You will enjoy building it, you can set it up so its not too fast. Kids pick it up so easy.

salsa-king 01 May 2011 10:32 AM

how easy is it to fit Deans connectors to a battery, or is it easier to fit bullet connectors to the wires on the RC car?

As long as you can solder shouldn't be to much of a problem, just do 1 wire then heatshrink over it so it doesn't short out when doing the other wire

The only problem i've heard about deans is they can start to melt is there is too much heat

salsa-king 01 May 2011 06:17 PM

well the HPi Bullet FLUX has DEANs but my Turnigy batteries have bullet.

solderings not a problem, got ll that stuff.

very pleased with the Bullet Flux, tnx for everyones help.

Granby 06 May 2011 06:45 PM

You sorted out all the charging now?

How do you mean not really RTR

salsa-king 06 May 2011 07:17 PM

charging.. sort of. :)
Not done a fast charge yet.

RTR.. you need to fit deans to the battery, set the ESC to LiPo safe. so its not plug and play.. really.

Granby 06 May 2011 07:22 PM

Never use fast charge just balanced mode ;)

So all you had to do is change one setting on the esc, as near as RTR as your gonna get :lol1:

Neanderthal 06 May 2011 08:56 PM
