Cool A few pic of the Eder Dam in Germany.

Just a few pic I took last weekend at the Eder Dam. Nothing spectacular but I like them.

This looks like a model but it is the real deal.

Spot the patch

Sixth picture down: there's where the continentals have it right over us: tourism. You can see about 35 boats on that shot. How many would you see on any of our reservoirs or HEP installations?

In France, I've actually been allowed to swim to within 50m of a dam on the Verdon. There were literally hundreds of people in the water round the little lake during August. It provides electricity and drinking water.

Why don't we do the same?

Alcazar, there were also boat and pedelo hire places next to the dam, you can hire a boat/pedelo and sail/pedel right upto the damn and look down the overflow vents if you wanted to.

You didn't have to go all the way to Germany to see that, could have just gone to the élan valley

Some good pics there

I might be going to the Moehne and Sorpe in a few weeks time as I may have to go back up to Paderborn to collect a car and the dams are on the way back home.
