A good clean example with history can fetch strong money.

What is the spec? Bodywork? Colour? 4x4 still working? Etc etc

You can find a run down one for around £1000 if you look, they are like a scoob tho, worth more in parts unless its been looked after.

Why do you ask? Have you got one or buying one?

Ask on migweb, I had one running around 270bhp but they can have lots of problems if its on standard intercooler and if the tyre depth is more than 3mm out over all yres it can wreck the transfer box. Its a bit like how long is a piece of string to ask what price a car is worth paying purely on your words.

You must really want that car to do a deal like that, you can call that 3k minimum dependant on your cars so the car should be in the better maintained category for that money with some kind of background and paperwork to match, we gave 2k for a 370bhp cav turbo that had loads of receipts, tubular headers, big turbo ( can't think what it was now think it may have been a gt30 ) injectors, uprated internals, in black, car was straight and looked decent, could have done with a little tidying up but we gave 2k for it, and that thing was effin rampant when you got it going, getting the power down was a right nightmare, it would happily spin the wheels through 4th in the damp, but thrilling you just had to hold on and pray

Is the car advertised anywhere?

They are 2 totally different cars to drive, even when the 4x4 is actually working on the cav I will always have a soft spot for a good clean cav turbo, my previous background is vauxhalls with a few other in between and have always liked the cavs, I've had a few over the years, find a decent one and hold on to it and I reckon in a few years they will climb in value as a good one is becoming harder and harder to find

Theres no need to worry about the 4x4 now, you can buy a "Locking ring" kit for £100 which you fit yourself to the transfer box. This does away with the hydraulics on the 4x4 so its now locked permenant 4x4 and can't really break. Theres people using this kit with over 500bhp and having no problems launching them etc...

But as you said they are totally differant cars, the 4x4 on the cav is totally differant to the impreza. Still love cavs though and probably will end up with another one one day.

Only you can answer that one really. These days there worth what people want to pay for them. I had mine up for £4k which is top money for one these days, i haven't seen one sell for more than mine did for a long time now.

If your gonna buy a £1300-£1600 one then expect to spend another grand making right. Spend £2000-£3000 and you should get a nice one for that.

Plenty!

Rust being the main one, rear arches, rear panel, front inner arches, rear spring seats/chassis legs, above windscreen and above rear screen.

F28 6 speed gearbox, If anyof them say it doesnt crunch into any gear i would be my life there lying unless its had a very expensive rebuild.

rust,my cav rotted around the rear struts badly........and that was 10+ years ago, rear arches go aswell as the top of the windscreen.rusted power steering pipes, porous head problems, transfer box problems, standard c20let pistons are not brilliant, parts are hard to find (20 year old car),fuel senders can rot badly and you cant buy them new anymore-they sit on top of the tank and moisture destroys them.

join up on migweb and use autovaux for parts-they give forum member discounts

Sadly a really good one will be hard to get more then £3k for it.
The one above I like the look but hate the zlet and horrid steering wheel. Should have kept it standard in my opinion.

I loved mine and that was worth every penny of £3k plus with the 2 owner history immaculate with sensible mods pushing it to 282bhp on phase 2.5 chips

With only a handful left you wold have thought they would be worth more but I guess it's because they are part of the cavalier family they arnt.

I would love another but finding a low mileage with only a few owners is becoming impossible.

A peice of me died when mine (m499jec) was stolen...

Turbodanc... Can't believe you only got 3600 for that! It's stunning mate, are you dan c from mk3cav owners club per chance?

I've been into vauxhalls for years had loads of the sportier models, sri's, gsi's etc I was looking for a clean cav gsi but couldn't find a nice clean car anywhere in the country for under 3k even the *****ers were fetching over 2k, I then started to look for a mk3 Astra to drop a Saab turbo lump into but again struggled to find a decent shell, then ended up with the STI thank god lol.

Decent C20LET are still fetching nigh on a grand so I would expect to pay around the 3k mark for any half decent cav turbo now.

Yeah thats me (turbodan on there).

When i say i only got £3600, i should of said i took that price, i advertised it over christmas which was probably the worst time to sell a car especially one like that so i reckon if i had held onto it for longer then i may have got nearer 4k for it. It sold on new years day so got pretty lucky really.

Loverly looking cav there, the only thing that pi55es me off with the cav/calibra turbo is the shocking 1st gear. If it had a 1st gear like an impreza it would be amazing
