Unhappy shogun 4wd display

hi i put this on the shogun owners website but had no reply yet, so maybe someone on here knows. "hi i got a 2002 lwb shogun 3.5 gdi, the 4wd display was not working properly, when u turn ignition on the top 2 wheels came on plus the centre diff, the bottom wheels(2wd) did not come on. the other 2 lights ie top lights(4wd) and centre diff light work properly when driving, but the bottom ones never came on. the car was due a sevice/mot so i tol them to sort it(probably bulbs). picked up the car yesterday evening, and all the lights were working as should, BUT today now the top wheel lights(4wd), dont come on either on ignition or whilst engaging 4wd, is it most likely the bulbs! and does that mean 4wd is not on when lights off. if 4wd is ok i can live with it until next service. Also is that the only lights that light up on the display when ignition on ie top wheel, bottom wheels and centre diff(middle light)? many thanks"

From memory when I had a shogun, (currently looking for one at the right price) Bottom lights should be lit all the time. All lights on when in 4wd and centre diff locked.
common fault bulbs blowing and easy (if a bit fiddly) to fix.
I really cant rember if the system does a self test ot not at start up. Sorry.
4wd will still work if light not lit but easy to test / work out of its not on a bit of damp grass with a bit of right foot.

If this is the same Super Select system that I have on my L200 then the rear light indicator should be on constantly, the front light and centre diff light will only be on in 4wd/ diff locked.
With regards to the lights not working, it could be dirty solenoids

There are about five of them in various places either on the transfer box or gearbox.

I have a similar issue with the same dash lights on our Shogun Pinin - I haven't had chance to do anything about it yet, though.
