whats your thoughts on an mr2 turbo?

look for a rev3 onwards.change over was 1993.
as for reliability they are great but like any car with age brings problems.
they are incredibly fast and feel very raw compared to my bugeye i have now.
with simple bolt on mods (intercooler, apexi intake, decat and plugs) you could see 300bhp with the boost turned up to circa 17psi.
anymore you will need a new ecu and map(old ecu isnt remapable)
16-17psi boost is still considered to be withing safe boost levels(with decent cooling) and will run this all day long.
i ran about this for nearly 3 years of ownership no problems.
i also fitted new suspension bushes, tein coilovers, trd topmounts etc and the car gripped so well.it always put a smile on my face to drive it..
the low down driving experience and the turbo spooling up a foot or so behind your head makes for a fantastic feeling when having a blast.
