Hi folks

Looking at buying a Merc C320 CDI (around 2005ish). Any thoughts?

My Uncle has one and he loves it. Is it an old man's car?

Don't expect much from the handling, but performance seemed spot on for my mainly motorway type miles.

Any thoughts welcomed.

Old(er) man's car - could be, I'm 42 and have a C220 CDi Avantgarde as a company car.

Lovely car, very comfortable, quiet and "quality" badge we have run it for 18 months (18,000 miles) with no problems.

Ideal for my daily 50 mile commute.

Try and find one with the "Command" sat nav and CD stacker.

Usual warnings about service history.........................

Alloys can suffer from corrosion and rather than being polished, they become "cloudy" (hope that makes sense)?

Late 2004/2005 was the facelifted year with better interior/dash/xenon headlamps etc.

Did the pre and post facelift both have the rounded headlights?

Good looking car with good specification.

My wife's SLK has the 320 engine + tiptronic gear box, and although no "ball of fire" it makes a great sound and is silky smooth.
