Thumbs up KIA Cee'd

7 year bumper-to-bumper warranty ....... thats a cracking offer.

Add to it £10,495 list for the SR version and it seems to be an amazing package!

Speaking of which there was one on my road this morning. Looked rather nice from the outside at least.

Should this not be on other marques ?

Not sure really ...... it's the warranty, price and spec which I am commenting on - the actual car is secondary to the therad.

Like to see more manufactures doing this. I know Hyundai offer 5 years, now Kia do 7. Whose next? IS the "standard" still 3?

Hmmm see the thread title is that of another marque, which would therefore suggest that is where it should be. However you make a (rare) valid point about the warranty.

The Hyundai warranty is better, even though it's shorter because it even covers things like exhausts. The Hyundai version of the Cee'd is the i30.

Well as the parent company is the same they do have similarities, I believe {from a dealer} that Hyundai will be going 10 years sometime soon.

3 year warrentees are the norm but it is about time we caught up with the USA

I think that says more about how Kia/Hyundai have progressed than it does about Toyota. Remember, the Corolla is the worlds best selling car ever.

All manufacturers could offer a ten year warranty if thy wanted.

all they do is pass the failures onto the tier 1 suppliers. The oem's will only have to cover bodywork & possibly engines (assuming they make them themselves)

I think it says that they couldn't be bothered to think up their own design cos thats too risky so they just picked a good one and copied it.

Compare it to a Kia Pride and you'll see what I mean.

Back in the 70's, Datsun and Toyota were pretty derided and very few people thought they could compete with more mainstream local products. They were discarded as being derivative, dull and a bit of a joke. Anyone in the midlands laughing now?

I'll be ready for a new teaching car in October or so, and I have considered one of these. If I an keep it the full 7 years it will be trouble-free motoring/
income paid for by 2 hours of work a week, although I am likely to exceed the 100,000 miles before 7 years is up
