RS6 has a systemic flaw in the DRC suspension. Mine was replaced twice under warranty and still not great so I sold it and got an E39 M5 which is the best car I have ever owned.

Fuel was reasonable, 20mpg average and I don't drive slowly. Saw 6mpg on the autobahn accelerating to the limiter!

RS6 is a beatiful car, just a shame about the harsh ride, faulty suspension and auto gearbox.

I still have my RS6.

DRC failed after a year and a half ownership so I have now replaced the whole suspension to Bilstein PSS9's.

Car handles much better now and would leave my old STi standing....but not on the twisties!

I get about 19mpg with a 505bhp remap. Short journeys it is VERY VERY thirsty.

Costs me about £75 to fill up and varied journeys would get me 270 miles to a tank and short journeys through London I have seen 170 to a tank!! Not cheap.

Lovely car though

I love the E55 AMG mercs, and the new E63. Especially the estate version.

65k I think they are new?

Get the RS6, Once 500 bhp+ there's not much that can touch them (been there).
Also look at the M5 touring if it's within your budget

Forget the MPG, if you were bothered you'd get an A-B car. Car's like this are there to be enjoyed, not to worry about MPG

the RS6 are ok if you throw a few more thou at them once you get one. the E55 AMG doesnt like bends or poor surfaces or rain (drive one in less than ideal conditions and you'll see what i mean). the new M5 is the better car from either but you're still over £40k.

I traded in my Scoob for a C55 AMG in December after 7 years of different Scoobies. Best move I ever made.

The C55 is a different animal entirely - yes it is slower on the twisties - but not by much. Yes it will step out on wet roads, especially in Sport or Manual gearbox settings - but isn't that part of the fun ? But in every other respect it is a far better car to be in. Fabulous gearbox - seamless linear acceleration from 0-155 (or more if you de-limit it) - incredible brakes - fantastic sound system - quiet until you let it have its head, then that incredible AMG V8 growl.

And exactly the same mpg and insurance group

Get one if you can find one
