Default Audi to launch cleanest engines in the world

From mid-2008 Audi will be putting the cleanest diesel technology in the world into series production. The new TDI engines with their ultra-low emission system combine the spontaneous performance and superior pulling power of today’s TDI power units with outstanding fuel consumption figures and incomparably low emissions. Indeed, they will already undercut the most stringent emissions limits that are to be applied in the future in Europe as soon as production starts. Just as the entire Audi range complied with the Euro 4 standard and the forthcoming Euro 5 emissions limits years in advance, the Ingolstadt brand is once again set to assume its role as the pioneer of groundbreaking technology.

For Audi, the trendsetting TDI engine is a core element of its integrated technology strategy. “We intend to consolidate the status of the TDI as a highly efficient form of propulsion on a sustained basis. And in future we will be launching ‘e’ model variants designed for optimised fuel consumption in the high-volume model series – either in TDI guise or as petrol models with state-of-the-art TFSI technology,” says Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the AUDI AG Board of Management.

So audi have designed engines that are more powerful than ever before and at the same time the cleanest in the world and you say who cares? Do you enjoy getting rubbish MPG. If everyone thought like you we would all be driving 8 liter cars. Why bother with technology if a big block can give just as much power with no effort.

Lets see:
  • Best new engine - BMW 3l twin turbo (335i)
  • Best fuel economy - Toyota 1.5l Hybrid
  • Best performance engine - BMW 5l (m5,6)
  • Sub 1l - Toyota 1l
  • 1l-1.4l - VW 1.4 TSi
  • 1.4l-1.8l - BMW/PSA 1.6l Turbo
  • 1.8l-2l - VAG 2l turbo FSi
  • 2l-2.5l - BMW 2.5l
  • 2.5l-3l - BMW 3l twin turbo
  • 3l-4l - Porsche 3.6l
  • 4l+ - BMW 5l (m5,6)
Funny, it looks like a walkover: BMW get best new engine, best performance engine, best 1.4-1.6 engine, best 2-2.5 engine, best 2.5-3 engine and best 4+ engine. VAG, across all their marques got best 1-1.4 engine and best 1.8-2 engine.

Need I say more?

So if you think Audi make the best cars in the world and you blindly follow the marque and are drawn to it like a fly to ****, why are you still driving around in a sh1tbox Volvo S40 for the past few years. You've bragged about how you can easily buy one on your with your income from your plumbing job. Why don't you put your money where your mouth is? There's clearly something wrong if such a devoted Audi lover doesn't drive one when you clearly have the means.

Having already introduced twin-turbos to great acclaim on the 3-litre diesel found in the 335d, 535d and X3, BMW has now developed the technology for petrol power.
Gnagh - BMW were about a decade and a half late to the party, the Japanese had been doing it years ago. It's hardly new technology!

Why do you never quite get it right?

I've amended your quote to make it more accurate, *******.

This will give us units wtill not quite as good as the BMW units, but at least they will be a bit cleaner which will please the lying ******* politicians who have somehow managed to convince the great unwashed that Co2 is "bad".

Indeed, they will already undercut the most stringent emissions limits that are to be applied in the future in Europe as soon as production starts (as will BMW). Just as the entire Audi range complied with the Euro 4 standard and the forthcoming Euro 5 emissions limits years in advance, the Ingolstadt brand is once again set to assume its role as the pioneer of groundbreaking technology, as long as no one opens the bonnet of a diesel BMW..

For Audi, the TDI engine is the way forward. “We can't afford to be producing lots of different engines that will screw us accross the globe on emissions, so you're going to have to take the TDI engines whether you like it or not. Although as some people refuse to change, we will probably bend over and make some cheap, light cars with dull but efficient petrol engines, slap 3 letter acronyms all over them and charge you more for less, all so that you can appease your environmental conscience” says Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the AUDI AG Board of Management.
