Focus RS
#1
I was kindly sent the latest info pack on the Focus RS from someone on scoobynet.
Who else knows much about this car? I would seriously consider one. Comes with Brembos, AP Clutch as standard, FWD (could be fun) and also looks half decent too. At not "that" much money.
Whats the crack with the car, is it as good as some journalists and Mr Mcrae (we know he has to say its good) say...or will it fall flat on its RS?
I think that its a pretty good looking car, and would imagine the Engine could be quiet good for tuning (as most previous RS engines)
Anyone put down a deposit? I was told that only certain dealerships would sell them...
Any info feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Stuart Griffiths is the man to talk to at Dagenham Motors. Mention Mark from Fasterfords website if you speak to him.

My son, Chris put a deposit on one a few months ago, and was indicated a delivery Sept/Oct!! He recently recieved a superb metal 1:18 model of the WRC, from Ford, to play with while he waits, and waits, and waits!! Acouple of weeks ago he recieved a letter from Ford thanking him for being so patient and how it will be worth the wait. The bit that pissed him off was the admission that production will not start until the new year, by which time he would have been carless for 4 months with a possible wait of another 3-4 months? (sold his 4x4 Sapphire Cossie in Sept.)
He is becoming tempted by the EVO V11.
Having said all this the Focus does look a superb car with a high std. spec. with decent performance (although only on a par with a UK spec. Scoob) There is a limited production run on this car, with,I believe, only 1600 or so earmarked for the UK.

PS Chris couldn`t answer - the lucky sod is trekking the Inca Trail in Peru!

Hi Ron,
Good to know you received the pack OK. No problem.
Looks like its going to be a nice piece of kit but price is still high IMO. The st170 may be better value, have to wait and see.

Yes, Peru is correct. You sound surprised! didn`t you think anyone would want to go there? My daughter went there a couple of years ago and fell in love with it. Chris flew into Lima on Monday.
Re Focus RS If you compare the price of £23,000 with the direct competition, it isn`t over the top?

I know that we get a large number of tourists here ..... but it is nice to read about it on a Scooby list ..... Lima which is the capital city of Peru (and a coast sity BTW, not located on the ANDES) is SOOOOOO FUN, especially at nights.
